The hike on the second day, we went to the ice hill, then we hiked even further and ate lunch. Then, we went to a Battery, and then we went to the harbor seals. Then we had to hike all the way back to the beach, and then back to the campus. On the third day, we went to a pond. On the way there, we saw some deer, near the road on some grass, and also near some trees. The pond was very deep, about 6 feet, our instructor said. We had to share Marin with Gateway, which is a school, but we had dinner at different times, which is nice. I really loved the food. On the second night, we had teriyaki chicken with rice and different sauces. It was really good, too. Halfway through our hike on the second day, we went to the seals. When I saw the seals, I thought they were weird worms on a rock. When I got a proper look at them, I saw they were seals, kind of tan in some places, but mostly a slimy grey. We had to write down their behaviors, like eating, feeding, which one is on the rock and which one is in the water for Nature Bridge. We passed around some binoculars, and wrote down what we saw in our journals that we got on the first day. When we went on the hike, we passed by horses and saw a batteries that were used by the military, and did a space walk on the way back. Since the hike was almost 7 ½ miles long, I was tired because it was so hot outside. The hike to Hawk Hill was so long, it took us almost 6 hours to get back to the bunks. It was a fun hike and I learned new things on it like to have enough water and saw new plants that I haven’t seen before. It was tiring, but it was a great learning experience.

When we got to the top, we were able to lay down and look at the stars. I was able to see Orion's belt and the Little Dipper. Once we laid down on the ground, the group leader Jonathan read us a book about the stars. We stayed at the hill, for about 20-30 minutes without talking. It was also cool staying up at the top of the hill because we got to see the Marin Headlands and San Francisco with all of the lights lit up. It was a cool sight to see the city all lit up and the camp.

In the group, there were about 10 people so it was hard. We all started on the first board. Then we got the shortest plank and some of us crossed onto the board in the middle. When I crossed, I slipped and fell off so I had to go back to the starting point (which was the first board). Then I crossed and made it over onto the plank in the middle. Then we got the long plank. It took us about 10 minutes to get to the last board, but we ran out of time and someone fell off. It was fun and I learned that when you work with a team it will not always work out the way you want it.

When we got to the top of the hill, we got to roll down the hill over the ice plants. On the first roll, I went really fast. It was fun and scary because you are next to the edge of the cliff. But after the second roll, it wasn’t s scary and I went faster and faster down the hill. Everyone got messy when we rolled down the hill and that I wish we could do it more. I would recommend doing it next time and that it was my favorite part of the trip at Marin.

The people in  our school were supposed to do a play where whenever they said our name, we would say our line. It was so funny!!! Instead of clapping to applaud we kicked the rocks around. The private room had 4 bunks but one room had 5 bunks so we chose that one. After we chose our beds we went outside to do some activities. People were having When I got to Marin I was thinking of whether I was going to get put in the private bunks or the big open bunks but then my question was answered. I was put in the private bunks with my friends Max, Josh, Rocco, and Sebastian. When the educators were bringing us over to the bunkhouse we were fighting our way through the crowd until we were at the front of the line. The private room had 4 bunks but one room had 5 bunks so we chose that one. After we chose our beds we went outside to do some activities. If you like rolling down hills, like grass hills, then rolling down an Ice plant hill will be even better. You get to put a piece of Ice plant on your tongue and it dehydrates that spot on your tongue. Then, you get to roll down the hill and KILL THE CONTAGIOUS ICE PLANTS… It was fun because you get wet WITH THE JUICY INSIDES OF ICE PLANT… And it's also really steep so when you roll, you roll really fast and dont know where you are. We helped the nursery so that the people that worked there didn’t have to wash so many pots. I had such a fun time washing and rinsing pots and racing so that we could get sprayed for every 200 we washed. My group and I started washing so fast that we started splashing each other. When we got sprayed, everybody was laughing and jumping around, and after we were done, we ran back to our stations and started washing really fast. So I just want to mention this we could only go to the basketball courts in the afternoon, so we would go play at the courts form 6:10-7:00. So the first night was good we played some nighttime tag in the dark also we played some b-ball.
