Phát biểu trong chuyến thăm thủ đô Makassar của Nam Sulawesi hôm thứ Năm, ông nói rằng những khu rừng bị tàn phá không thể phục hồi được và các khu vực bị ảnh hưởng phải được chuyển đổi thành đất nông nghiệp trồng trọt. Ví dụ, chính phủ đã phân bổ 10 tỷ Rupiah (1,9 triệu USD) để cải thiện đất khô cằn ở Nam Sulawesi.

The reason for this situation is that humans have used too much energy, mainly from fossil fuel sources (coal, oil, gas), and increasingly released into the atmosphere gases that cause harmful effects greenhouse, leading to the rise of Earth temperature.
