         <title>Mind and Body Connection to Lifelong Health </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I connected with this journal because it hit on the importance of gifted nurturing students creativity &amp; flexibility in education. I connected my disipline because it is important to me that my students are able to recognize the connection between the mind and the body. Without nurturing that connection my gifted students wouldn't be able to explore key topics in HPE like mindfulness, movement, and spacial creativity. Lifelong health is foundational to my personal teaching philosophy and connects to my gifted philosophy as well. </p>]]></description>

         <title>Ethical and Social Responsibility </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>A Journal of Gifted Education notes the importance of acknowledging that gifted students ethical and social ideas should be nurtured in the classroom &amp; more specifically through their education. This idea directly ties into my philosophy in my health and physical education classes. Teaching a gifted student that they have a responsibility to use their abilities in a leadership role or be the example is something I do everyday with my gifted learners. This can look different for everyone but in my HPE classes sometimes it's in a game, activity, workout, or an assignment. I want my gifted learners to lead by example, support their peers, and include their classmates. </p>]]></description>

         <title>Holistic Development </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Understanding that your gifted students need all aspects of development to grow is something Snyder talks about in his article. These aspects include metal, physical, emotional, and social needs of the gifted student. As a gifted educator in HPE it is my goal to nurture all of these aspects in order for my students to grow as individuals. Focusing on the gifted students as a whole and not just thinking about if they are getting test questions right. For me it is important that I am challenging them enough to think about their overall well being. </p>]]></description>
