Types of bullying are direct and indirect bullying. Direct bullying is caused through a physical action. Indirect bullying is normally behind someone’s back through gossip, rumors or through social media. A study shows that most bullying is through an indirect way when in high school. In the 2014 study shown in the graph more females are bullied through an indirect form of bullying while males are typically bullied through direct bullying. I researched the more causes for bullying or what makes someone want to bully others. What I found out was that there could be a family or social issues which is when a child does not receive enough attention and try to do something to gain attention. I also found that personal history can play a role in causing someone to bully others because the person has maybe been rejected so they then pass it onto someone else. A main reason for someone to become a bully is because they want power. They want to feel power over someone. Bullying is the cause of thousands of suicides a year among middle school aged to high school aged students. A study in Britain has found half of the suicides among youth are related to bullying. A solution needs to be found to try and prevent bullying so no more youthful lives are taken because of bullying. First there needs to be a universal definition of bully then rules need to be made that are acceptable and appropriate for the age groups they go with. Then teachers need to award good behavior from students because normally only bad behavior is called out. They put on a smile and pretend they’re okay,

As they try to make it all the way.

Someone leaves the crowd and lends them a hand,

They now realize it’s their time to stand.

They no longer have to fake a smile,

Because someone made there life worthwhile. 

You see, all they ever needed was a friend,
