I expect to learn about the presidential election. I think this class will be challenging, but fun. I don't have any interest in the election. I never really have had a big interest in politics in general, but I know a little about it because my parents always have the news on in the mornings. I like the cast selection because Mr. Smith really embodied an honest man and Mr. Taylor looked like a crook. My favorite character was the President of the chamber because he was the only one at the time that let Mr. Smith talk and have a fair chance. What I didn't like about the movie was some parts were very boring and we missed a lot of parts due to a time limit. I also was left with unanswered questions- which I don't like either. I want to know what happened with Taylor and the other corrupt senators. I think because he saw all the corruption he won't want to be apart of it anymore. I also think that since the National Boys Club will be passed, he will work full time on that. The boys club will require more employees and will be a lot of work. Mr. Smith reminds me of a democrat. I think in this movie he would lean more towards the democratic side because of the charity work and projects , such as the boys club, he wants congress to pass. The democratic party creates organizations to help children. Mr. Smith was a senator and Tammy Duckworth is running for the House of Representatives to represent the 8th district of Illinois. I chose Tammy Duckworth to compare because I thought that Mr. Smith would be apart of the democratic party and Tammy is apart of the democratic party. Tammy voted on an act that would ensure taxpayers don't pay the salaries of of Members of Congress that fail to do their jobs of passing a budget and let the Federal Government shut down.
