Before the results were released, there was a tense atmosphere. I looked around to see uneasy faces, students fidgeting in their seats and nervously tapping their legs. Some students look dazed as they get lost in their thoughts. Others were breathing heavily, trying to calm themselves before the release of the results. The room was filled with the nervous chatter, students praying that passed with flying colors/aced their examinations. Then, as the principal walked on stage, the noise faded away. When the results were finally released, some of the responses were positive. As I looked around the hall, there were students jumping with excitement as they squealed with surprise. There were groups of students hugging their parents, friends, as well as their teachers to express their gratitude. It was understandable that they would want to express their emotions, the journey to O levels was a rollercoaster ride, full of ups and downs/the journey to complete their O levels was a arduous and enduring one. Some of the students were grinning from ear to ear as they passed with flying colours. Others had relief wash over them as they realized sacrifices were not made in vain. Students started to chatter away about their future prospects or even the schools they were able to enrol to with their scores. However, not everyone was positive about their results when they were revealed. There were people staring with eyes wide open  on their  results slip, as if their whole world was breaking and crumbling apart around them. Some students were in total paralysis, either due tot them realizing what would happen next, or the uncertainty of their future. Complete hopelessness converted into tears that rained down their disappointed faces. Students can be seen huddled around their classmates, giving their peers a warm comforting hug, trying to console and reassure them. Some students were simmering with anger. Punches in the air where thrown in disbelief of the news they just received. After the results were released I could still sense the amount of sadness amongst the students, some feeling sad due to their result and some being their last day in that uniform. People were seen thanking each other and having groups hugs for the last time. There were some expressing their feelings through tears and some were hiding them behind their laughter. I too began to have flashbacks as I stepped out of the hall feeling that I have left behind of myself. I realized it was my last time seeing my friends together as I know we would have to part ways soon, maybe even permanently.
