The Coronavirus has affect me and my family very much. First it was very hard for my mom because she was not able to work for a while. We were worried about not being able to pay our bills and rent. Then for me personally it affected my school life since now we had to do online learning. Since I was not used to this new way of learn I found it really hard to focus on my school work. So as of a result my final grades were kind of lacking. I hope that soon we can get back to our regular lives.

The sandy hook shooting will forever change my life. At a very young age, I was taught how to go into a protective place and how to defend myself from any danger. The sandy hook shooting had taken place during the middle of the school day, and my elementary school had went into a full lockdown. I wasn't able to move from my hiding spot until school had ended. My parents weren't allowed to come into the building to get me because no one knew who the shooter was. This story will always stick with me because I never thought something like this could happen to me or in my state. Venezuelan crisis brought millions of their citizens to my country, especially, my city. Now we have no security, delinquency is extremely high, we cannot be outside with our phone or just a purse, and probably someone will break your window while you are doing grocery shopping. around 5 years ago, this crisis affected my city in a huge factor, economy. And now I would say that is extremely difficult to survive.

This story gave me an idea on how to handle being a citizen in the middle of a pandemic. I went to the gym, grabbed food, and went home with no protective face wear, at the time the virus wasn't at large in CT. A half a week later I was experiencing a fever of 107 degrees, had trouble breathing and a loss of apatite. I went to the doctor and diagnosed with COVID-19. This story took place right here in Connecticut. I was about six years old when I'd heard that an elementary school had been the target of a shooting. At the time, I was confused and made almost nothing of it, but once I saw the first memorial (there might have been some before it, but the fist one I saw was at a joint birthday party for me, my sister, and my cousin), I knew that things were serious. There were kids about my age at the time getting hurt and dying that day. Since then, schools have implemented lock down (among other) procedures, and even though I know that it's just a drill, I still feel uneasy. I can't shake the feeling that that can happen to me or my friends. I even remember the amount of times that we've had moments of silence for the traumatic event. It's a sad and scary thing that horrible things like this can be headlines next to the wholesome and happy things that we like to read. It hurt to see how much the people were affected with New Zealand's first worse mass shooting. Worshippers were in the mosque hurting no one and they didn't deserve to be victims of such hate crime. Racism has taken too many lives all around the world.
