Assets: Historical Thesaurus of English (University of Glasgow)

Structure: Is a structured type of data divided into 415 distinct semantic areas, which are grouped into the 37 areas of experience. These 415 categories were then mapped against each other – all items of vocabulary in one category (the ‘start category’) were checked computationally with all the other categories.

Display/User interface: Basic interface, but still a manual (video instruction) should be read to navigate in the page. Search options.

Front End impression: Not intuitive. Engaging visualisations.

Intended audience: linguists, scholars, philology students, writers, translator, etc.

Assets: Digitized manuscripts of Shelley-Godwin families of writers

Structure: semi-structured. Organization of data corpus.

The contents of the Archive are cataloged primarily by manuscript and work. The metadata associated with each manuscript page can be grouped together in a number of useful ways by creating a "manifest."

Services: Search (currently not working). Explore the archive.

Display/User interface: Participatory platform. Home page gives the information about what the website is and how to use it. Users can only browse by the given topics to search for the content. Basic skills of searching are required.

Front End impression: Simple, user-friendly site.

Back end impressions: Shared Canvas data model, Text encoding Initiative’s module.

Intended audience: Scholars, students, general public.
