The term computing is so broad and vague for many of us that we replace it quite randomly with other terms such as ICT, programming, coding, computer science, informatics, etc. However, these terms are not the same and we should understand the difference

Furthermore, the module looked at strategies to teach computing collaboratively with the Pair Programming technique, how to create links to other subjects and how to ensure the subject is taught gender inclusively. The module activities require the participants to reflect on the introduced strategies as well as identify own ideas of how to teach the subject.

Learning Objectives for this Module:

1. Acquire an understanding how educational robotics can develop a range of key competences 2. Reflect about the value of visual programming tools in the classroom 3. Understand reasons for focusing on mobile development in the classroom and experiment with two mobile app development tools In this module we finally delve into the types of tools and resources that are out there and which can help us bring Computing in an engaging fashion into our classrooms.

1. Explore a range of game design tools and understand the potential of the different tools as well as the use of game design tools to teach computing more generally

2. Understand what a microcontroller is and can do and how to use it in the classroom 3. Identify a range of tools that can be used to explore internet search, computer networks and web desing 4. Reflect on the topics on the course and how to implement them in your classroom by designing a lesson plan for the Hour of Code
