In this case the eighth summit of the americas was held in which political and economic aspects were discussed, this took place in Lima on April 13 and 14, 2018. During this event the main theme was “Democratic Governance and Corruption”, In this topic, the following points were being disscusing: Democratic governance and corruption, Corruption and sustainable development, Aspects of cooperation and International institution and Public-private partnerships. However, it this true these points  have been mentioned with previously but no solution was reached. This event took place while the president trump had been talking about the attack to siria.

At the conclusion of the eighth edition of this event, the attending countries signed a document called "Commitment of Lima", in which 57 agreements were adopted grouped into seven axes theme: strengthening of governance, transparency, access to information, protection of whistleblowers, respect for human rights and freedom of expression, financing of electoral campaigns, prevention of corruption in public works, contracting and public procurement, international legal cooperation, strengthening of the Inter-American anti-corruption mechanisms, follow-up and report of the agreements
