Remake this Padlet so that you can write on it. Part I: Select three of the articles or Quickwrites that you wrote this year that you feel are examples of your best work. For each entry, provide a justification that includes: 1) A 2-3 sentence summary of the story; 2) Explain, in 2-3 sentences, why you feel this was one of your best pieces. Part II: Looking back at your news logs, create a Top 5 list of important or interesting stories that we learned about or followed this school year. Include a photo that represents one of the stories.

Senior Spotlight

Issue 3's senior spotlight was Angelina. She won many awards in AcaDeca ranging from county to state in categories like econ and art. She has also been chosen as valedictorian and is being recognized for her work. I believe this is one of my best works because I got to know more about my classmate and I learned what AcaDeca is about which I found interesting. Additionally I think in this story there is a good balance of quotes and I think I did a good job in delivering a summary of my interview with Angie and Ms. Gintjee.

Staff Voices 4: Senior Reflection

I really enjoyed writing this quick write. I enjoy writing reflections whether that is on events like Prom or about my personal life so writing about my high school experience was fun. I included details about my personal life struggles and how my interests have changed. I believe this is one of my best quick writes because I was able to think about high school in a new way. I was remembering things from freshmen year that I forgot had happened and looking back to those times was bittersweet due to struggles but I am glad I conquered them. Overall I enjoy topics about self growth because that is when I can see it as I list everything I liked and now don't, etc.

Staff Voices 3: Teachers Appreciation

This quick write is about one of my favorite teachers in elementary school. It was for teacher appreciation week and I wrote about my 5th grade teacher back in Mar Vista. I wrote about my favorite moments in her class which ranged from Christmas festivities to fun assignments. I like this quick write because I had a feeling of nostalgia when I was writing it which was nice to go back and remember those fun moments as a kid. This quick write is also one of my favorites because it's been awhile since I've thought about elementary school especially 5th grade so it was nice to go back and find those wonderful memories with a teacher I had that I felt safe with as a child.
