His journey with Jim helps align his moral compass and realize the type of man he wants to be. Even though by the end of the novel he doesn’t want to completely be a part of traditional society, he realizes that some parts of it were important to having a good moral identity. From his interactions with the Grangerfords to the duke and the dauphin to Aunt Sally and Uncle Silas, Huck learned the characteristics of what makes a good person is the willingness to do the right thing even when everyone else says its wrong.
