It's most significant feature is the gazebo by the water, and a common place for people to visit and hang out. In the 1970s, those from Laos were fleeing their country from war and bombs, run by a communist country. Laotion citizens immigrated to Des Moines, Iowa and built the gardens for a sense of community and cultural sense of place. </p>]]></description>

Since then it has become the largest state fair in the country and has served as catalyst for dozens of small businesses. It is also a place for vibrant political scenes, where last year multiple presidential candidate appearances such as Joe Biden, Donald Trump and Cornel West. It was created to celebrate Iowa’s agricultural heritage and to show case the top of achievements of our farmers and to attract more contestants.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Riverview park was built on June 5th 1916. It only costed 5 cents for admission. In 1912 a  local buisness man became interested in creating amusement parks in Des Moines. It consisted of 40 acres almost completely surrounded by East and West Zoo lakes. Fitzgerlad performed at the riverview park and tons more! Thought the years the park had ups and downs. In the year 1933 the park suffered fire damaged at around 100,000 dollars and in 1944 a flood out it underwater. Inflation and operating costs went up and competition moved into the are. In 1979 Adventure lands of america purchased Riverview amusement park. And at the time the parks features were moved to create a theme destination at Adventureland. Riverview park is now part of the Des moines park system.</p>]]></description>
