Introduction

Humanity has its eyes set on launching itself into space. Not long ago NASA recently touched down on the red planet. After privately funded
expositions to mars begin colonies are due to follow. as long their are stars in the sky, humanity can go wherever we please. we might even find some friends in space. they, no doubt would want to know about us, our culture and history. Just as we would want to know about them.
Thats why, i propose a space station to be launched into our solar system, likely either orbing earth as the moon does or join the crowd and orbit the sun.

The station would be an intergalactic docking station for humans and possible aliens alike to easily trade with earth (or New Zealand) from a safe distance. As a nod to the ancient Egyptian thinkers before us the station would be pyramid shaped and have solar panels on every angle to capture the suns energy for use both possibly refueling ships and for the stations power requirements. The hub (the station) would take in valuable alien things to trade to the rest of the planet. New Zealand, getting the majority to make living in the greatest country all the better.

Environmental Effects?

The panels lining the sides of the hub can partly be made from recycled car batteries. this would dramatically reduce the amount of drilling and mining required to build the hub as much of that can be found in the used car batteries I mentioned, it is very hard to launch anything into space with no negative environmental effects. But eh nothings perfect. The money back could pay for researching better rocket fuels. the interior of the hub could be made from compacted plastics but im not entirely sure if thats safe in space and, surprisingly i cant find many sources on the subject.

Because the exterior is made from solar panels which aren't very protective and are prone to things like asteroids which would prove a considerable threat if deployed orbiting the sun.
