Teacher should proceed with the activity as it is a thoughtful idea from the students and good way to empower them.

Teacher must first check students' existing medical conditions and ensure students are fit for the activity. Teacher should be familiar the safety issues with Captain's ball such as students should no longer use chairs. Teacher should seek SH/HOD PE/CCA to ensure activity is safe to proceed after all safety issues have been explored and addressed by teacher-in-charge.

Safety briefing / checks to be conducted before activity: proper attire, suitable venue, first aid kit

Tend to student (Administer first aid, if required)
Inform CCA Head to determine next steps (e.g. inform SLs/ call parent)
Fill in incident report (asap)
Follow up with student after to show care

Depending on how severe the back injury is, the CCA teacher should

contact the parent to update and suggest the parent to fetch child for medical attention
if ambulance is required, teacher will need to accompany student and do a proper handover until parent arrives
contact HOD PE to inform of injury
use PAM to assess mobility and severity of injury
teacher to write an incident report for record purposes

Ensure students are well and healthy before the activity. (use Sports Safe U Guide)
Ensure they are hydrated or have access to hydration (i.e. water bottle).
Check that the environment is safe to play. (i.e. not slippery, no equipment lying around)
If they are playing outdoors, ensure there is no lightning alert.
In case of injuries, ensure there is a first aider on call.
Teacher should know the medical history of the students before the activity.
Teacher has to be present during the activity.
