The value of telling and retelling a traumatic story is to make the people you tell feel almost the same way you did. It can also help relieve some of the pain. Talking to someone about your traumatic experiences is good because you're able to let those emotions out. It benefits and hurts the teller because although it can be good to let the emotions out sometimes the memory may cause PTSD and trigger the feeling you had when in the moment. I don't see how this makes Tim O'brien reliable or not so I am going to say no he isn't.

The value of telling and retelling a traumatic is what it can do to help the teller. It can give a sense of mastery, in a way, and make the memory less triggering if you retell it many times. It benefits and hurts the teller because at first it can trigger PTSD but later that will begin to stop.

When telling a story of a traumatic event the value of telling it can be like a reliever when it's being told cause your letting it out when speaking of it. I think it may benefit and hurt the teller. I don't think this makes him a reliable narrator, I just don't understand how this has to do with his reliability.

The value of telling a traumatic story is letting people understand it. Letting people start to understand your thinking and understand who you are as a person. It lets you express your feelings in way you can't by just speaking about them. Telling these story's can hurt and help people both ways for the person telling the story being able to share helps people but also having to relive that while telling the story can hurt.

I think Tim O'Brien is reliable because he lived through this. If you want to trust what he says is on you.
