This arrangement was created from a range of sticks, leaves and flowers found in my garden on a cold and cloudy winter day. When I went to collect these items from my garden, I was not expecting to find any colour being the middle of winter. Finding the bright flowers and bright green leaves lifted my spirits and brightened my day.

When arranging my artwork I purposely placed the dead branch at the bottom representing a cold winter day. I placed the green leaves and bright flowers on top to remind me that even in the darkest moments, there is always colour somewhere to be found to brighten your day.

This would be a great activity for students in primary school to engage in as a getting to know you activity as it allows students to show their own personal creativity.

This week we were asked to raid our rubbish bins to create a stop motion relating to sustainability from recyclable materials.

I googled art sustainability to look for ideas and found an idea about land clearing and deforestation. I used my recyclables to make a bulldozer and trees. I used other craft accessories that I had in my craft cupboard at home to paint and decorate my background. When constructing my masterpiece, I was conscious of using the visual art element texture and contrast to make my stop motion more appealing to viewers.

My takeaway from this activity was that art can be made from anything. I did not think that it would be possible to make an art piece so easily out of rubbish. When I am a teacher, this activity will be beneficial to integrate visual arts and media arts together to make them more engaging for the students.

This lesson we looked at different arts integrations, in particular arts and mathematics, and how easy it is to integrate the visual arts with mathematics. We looked at geometrics and shape in art by identifying shape within different artworks.
We engaged in a practical activity demonstrating how visual art elements can be used with the Australian Curriculum content descriptors such as geometry. This activity was very engaging, and I was surprised at how easy these subjects flow with each other.
In the second activity when I was listening to the music my pencil was guided by the changes in rhythm. The rhythm was quite sporadic and the change in high and lower pitches is reflected by the swirls going up and down the paper. The ending was very sharp which is shown by the sharp straight lines.
These activities are very engaging and would be fun as a warm-up for an integrated arts lesson. I am very excited to try these activities in the classroom on my next practical experience placement and watch how the students engage.

This week we built on last week's activity of representing sounds. We downloaded the app Sound Trap and chose an artwork to create an atmospheric soundscape. I chose Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh to base my soundscape around. I used fantasy ambience as my background as it sounded like it was flowing. I then added Howling wind from indoors as the artwork looks to me like the wind is dancing. I then added my voice to add a one sentence poetic response saying, "The wind dances across the sky".
At first I was apprehensive as I feel I am out of my element when playing around with new technology however, after having a little play with the app I found I was having fun. I even had my children join in to make other complications. I found it interesting in the tutorial that many of us had different perspectives from the same artwork and would portray them differently.
This is a great activity to use in my future classroom to integrate visual arts with music. It would be beneficial for students to see that art can be interpreted in many different ways and either way is right or wrong, it is your personal refection that counts.

This week we looked at the art element dance and had to choose a native Australian amphibian to research then make a movement sequence. I researched and chose the Eastern Dwarf Tree Frog.
I started crouched down balancing on the balls of my feet with my fist to my mouth. I then extended my arm away from my body in a quick motion making a catching motion with my hand. I repeated this three times quickly. I then slowly stretched one leg out behind me in a slow motion. I repeated this with the other leg. I then leapt up high in the air extending myself in a powerful forward momentum.
I found that this activity was very engaging and could be used to make researching animal behaviors more engaging to students. One of the challenges that could occur when using this activity is that some students may have difficulty moving. Reasonable adjustment may be needed to provide all students with an equal opportunity to succeed.
When applying this activity to my future class, I would take the students outside, so they have more area to express their movements.

This week for our reflection activity we looked at different drama strategies that can be used to integrate HASS- History into a unit. We were given a history context and were tasked with integrating drama to the learning activity to engage students.
I found this reflection activity very helpful in understanding the different ways that drama can be incorporated into a history lesson. I was surprised how easily that it was to choose the drama activity that fit the history content.
In my future classroom I will definitely integrate drama in my history unit as it makes the content that most students find boring more engaging.

This week we were tasked with integrating the visual arts with media arts. We used the app Stop Motion Studio to take a series of photos of our recycled visual art piece we created last week, then converted them into a video. Unfortunately my padlet would not let me download the video without me paying so I have added the link. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zeX45cScql0WUnWFeAm1jy_tjTf6HZeE/view?usp=sharing
Although this took me out of my comfort zone as I was working with a new ICT tool, I feel that after playing and trying I feel I accomplished the task and would feel comfortable teaching this to my future class. Reflecting on the process, I feel that I should have used more movement in my stop motion to make it flow better.
This will be a great lesson for when I am teaching in my classroom as it allows students to learn about the elements of media arts and visual arts in an engaging way.
