My SI was explored through depicting myself in various settings and forms: including a woman and her cat, bunny, my dog, various bedrooms, and a restaurant. I experimented with oil pastels, acrylic paint, charcoal, collage, and printmaking, developing my understanding of my emotional self through different mediums & styles (abstraction & expressionism). I kept revising dog pastels to the point of collaging them to display my emotional self in varying environments. Plant symbol and form illustrates my personal and emotional growth--from hiding, breaking through, growing, and finally thriving.
