The key to reading - Teach me Romania by ALESSANDRO STEFANIA

This is Padlet, an app for creating interactive maps. The students of first classes who partecipate (11-12) to the project have thought to realize a map for representing some of the beauties of the Italian artistic and cultural heritage and to narrate some of regional folk fairy tales. Each interactive point shows a fairy tale or a characteristic place of that region. The points have different colors depending on the region concerned. For reason of time, they have chosen to represent only some region: Puglia, Calabria, Sicilia, Campania, Lazio, Toscana, Piemonte, Lombardia e Veneto. Moreover, Italian regions are also the protagonists of the secondo work, a short film written and represented by the pupils. It is a personification of the regions of Italy which are participating in a talent show called "Italian's got talent". Each region wants to win the talent and so each one starts to show its beauties. The race becomes very eventful, thus Italy and Constitution enter the scene...

Alberobello is famous for its typical dry stone dwellings called "Trulli", since 1996 UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The birth of these constructions is related to an imposition of the count, landowner of the land in which today it rises up Alberobello: the farmers had to build their homes through dry stone technique, in this way it will be easy to destroy it.
Thus, farmers started building Trulli only with stones.

Tratto da P. Moreover, he continued to be around her all the time. Therefore, she got a pot and added oil to it and started to fry "pettole", a mass balls typical of Apulia. When the little spirit went up to her, she threw oil on him. Finally, the Scazzamauriello never went up to her again.

In desperation, Glaucus turned to the sorceress Circe, goddess daughter of Helios and the Perseid nymph, famous for her spells capable of changing the appearance of men. He wanted a good look to attract his beloved Scilla to him. But the only result that Glaucus obtained was to unleash the jealousy of the sorceress who tried to seduce the fish-man. Rejected by Glauco, Circe unleashed her fury on her Scilla of her transforming her into a ferocious monster equipped with six barking dog heads.
According to legend, in desperation Scilla took refuge in a cave under the fortress where the castle stands and which still exists today. Near some rocks, a few kilometers from Cariddi who lives on the Sicilian shore. Before being a monster, Cariddi was a naiad, daughter of Poseidon and Gea, dedicated to robberies and famous for her voracity. One day she stole Geryon's oxen from Heracles and ate some of them. So Zeus electrocuted her, then threw her into the sea, where she mutated into a gigantic scary sea monster. Cariddi thus became the most feared creature, infesting the waters of the Messina shore with her fury.

The Trevi Fountain is one of the largest monuments in Rome and therefore one of the most visited places in the city.

The Neapolitan pizza was born around 1600 from the enormous Neapolitan culinary ingenuity, in need of making the traditional crushed bread more tasty and flavoursome. However, we will have to wait until the second half of the 1800s to find the first classic "tomato and mozzarella" pizza as we know it; we are talking precisely about 1889, the year in which there was a visit to Naples by the then sovereigns of Italy, King Umberto I and Queen Margherita.

The ancient city of Pompeii was buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in A.D. 79.

The Tower of Pisa is famous all over the world for its beauty and for a unique feature: it is inclined, but despite this it does not fall.
The tower remains balanced because the vertical line passing through its center of gravity falls within the support base.
On the 9th August 1173 the foundation works of the bell tower of the Cathedral of S. Maria began. This first phase of the works was interrupted at the height of the third ring due to the subsidence of the ground on which the base of the tower stands. The softness of the ground, but also the fact that in ancient times a bend of the Auser river flowed in the area, which therefore made the ground unstable, is in fact the cause of the slope of the tower.
These stability problems prevented the continuation of the works for a long time.
The construction site then resumed in 1275 under the guidance of Giovanni di Simone and Giovanni Pisano, adding another three floors to the three rings of the original building. In an attempt to straighten the tower, the three added floors tend to curve in the opposite direction of the slope.
The tower was completed in the middle of the following century, adding the belfry.
The structure of the monument is quite special because it consists of two concentric cylinders connected to each other by an internal spiral staircase which leads up to the upper cell.

The first use of the word "pizza" dates back to 997 and is witnessed in a Latin text from the city of Gaeta. The official invention of pizza, prepared by the chef Raffaele Esposito in honor of Margherita di Savoia, the Queen of Italy, seems to date back to June 1889: it is no coincidence that the toppings used, tomato, mozzarella and basil, represent the colors of the Italian flag. In 16th-century Naples, a flatbread of galettes was commonly referred to as a pizza. Known as the dish for the poor, it was sold on the street and quickly met with great success, even becoming a dish loved by Bourbon nobles.

Zanazzo, Novelle, favole e leggende romanesche
</sub>

Madame Piccinina was so small that she lived in a three-brick house. As soon as she decided to eat her, she noticed that she had been eaten by flies. To ask for justice, Madame Piccinina went to the governor who, to get her out of the way, ordered that she be given a good beating as soon as a fly was seen. Her combination wanted that at that moment a fly landed on her nose and ... zacchete! Frightened by having hit him, the woman took refuge in her house and, upon the arrival of a guard, in a bottle of oil, demonstrating that she could even outwit the government!

One day a farmer found a buffalo head in the ground which, in order not to be crushed with a hoe, promised him to make the fortune of one of his three daughters.

In the music of southern Italy the influences of Arab music and the Mediterranean tradition emerge more. Among many dances, the best known is the tarantella, a frenetic dance intended, according to ancient beliefs, to cure the bite of the tarantula, a poisonous spider. The most typical instruments are the mandolin, the swing guitar, the bagpipe, the harp and the tambourine.

A king whose wife had died had a daughter whose stepmother was so jealous that she had her father shut her up in a castle in the middle of the woods. The Princess, always alone in that room, with the ladies-in-waiting who didn't even look at her, spent her days sadly looking out the window. The window overlooked the woods and on the path the son of a king passed one day chasing a wild boar and, approaching that castle, he saw a beautiful girl looking out at a window up there and smiled at her in return. So they went on for a few days until the Prince received offers of help from a Masca. This, knocking on the castle door, gave the ladies-in-waiting an old book, saying that it was a gift from her to the princess so that she could pass the time by reading. The girl read in it that it was a magical book, in which she. if the pages were turned the right way a man became a bird and if they were turned the other way a bird became a man. The girl ran to the window and began to turn the pages of the book in a hurry and looking at the young man, standing in the middle of the path, she saw that from dressed in yellow he had become a canary that took flight and came towards her landing on the windowsill cushion. The Princess kissed him and she couldn't wait to make him a young man again. So it happened and every day the book was leafed through to make the Prince fly to the window at the top of the tower, leafed through again to make him human form, then leafed through again to make him fly away, and leafed through again to return home. The two young men had never been so happy. The Queen noticed what she thought of punishing the two with pins planted in the pillow on the windowsill, the Prince, transformed into a canary, flew to the window and was injured. The deep wounds also remained with him when he became a man again and showed no sign of healing because there was no one capable of doing it. Meanwhile, the Princess fled and took refuge to spend the night in the trunk of a tree, under which four Masche soon met. One of these, confiding in the others, declared that she knew how to heal the King's son with an ointment. The Princess, disguised as a doctor, went to knock on the royal palace and she did as she had heard from the grannies and she cured him. Having clarified with the girl, the Prince asked for her hand and the wedding was celebrated amidst the joy of all, except for her stepmother, who was justly punished.

tratta da D.G.Bernoni, Fiabe e novelle popolari veneziane
</sub>

Once an old man had three daughters, the youngest of whom sent his father to offer her hand to the King of Fava. On the third time, the King accepts the marriage provided that the girl prepares three tubs, one full of water and milk, one of milk and one of rose water and that, if she wanted to see him, she would have had to look out the window and throw some grain of broad beans. The girl did it all. Her jealous sisters, however, put pieces of glass in the tubs and the King, immersing himself, was injured. The girl immediately looked for a remedy and she knew that she could save him by anointing him with the blood of a witch mixed with that of a pigeon and then washing him.
Dressed as a fake doctor, she manages to heal him and reveal the betrayal of the sisters. So they could get married and love each other for life.

Imposing stature, white beard and wide-brimmed hat, Nicola Morra "the bandit gentleman": his life became a legend. Everyone will remember every detail of his existence, even his baptism with a double sprinkle of holy water, but it wasn't enough to change a destiny stained by blood. Raffaele Vesciera tells the underworld of Nicola Morra with the rhythm of a ballad. When the author was a child, a record was sold in the squares, the storyteller who recalled the deeds of Morra, a native of Cerignola, a character halfway between Robin Hood and
Zorro. In the 60s, an ambassador with 45 rpm and record player decided to make the stories of his land known throughout Italy and for this reason Vesciera's book, in addition to the value of historical narration, has sociological merit. In addition to the interest of the popular song that in past centuries has suffered in Puglia, the last literary production has created an oral culture that "saves the lives of the vanquished", (Ignazio minerva) "LA MALAVITA DI NICOLA MORRA"
