Wheat originated in the Cradle of civilization, otherwise known as the home of the ancient Mesopotamian people . This was located near the Tigris and Euphrates river, near modern day Iraq. The Wheat plant was later traded further down south to the Egyptians. There the Egyptians used a stone mortar to refine the plant into a thin consistency. After years and years of innovations they came up with the hand sieves which helped them create the first " White Flour".
