The theme of Pictures of Hollis Woods is "Don't judge a book by it's cover." I know this  because in the book, Hollis was a girl that was just trying to find a family. 

How does this relate to the theme?

 This relates to the theme because Hollis was trying to find a perfect family and then she found the Reagans.  This relates to the theme because it shows that Hollis has a hard life and also shows that Hollis hasn't learned anything and doesn't know her real family. I know that this is the theme because in chapter 3 it states "I didn't much like to look at myself, there was that scar just healed from the accident on the Old Man's mountain." 

How does this relate to the theme?
