         <description><![CDATA[<p>The courage to speak out: It taught me that one person can make a difference by standing up for what is right, even when faced with opposition.</p><p><br/></p><p>Respect for nature: I was able to learn how interconnected all life is and the importance of protecting the environment for future generations. Importantly, this was also taught to me by my parents.</p><p><br/></p><p>Critical Thinking: Carson encouraged me to question established practices, such as pesticide use, and look for better, more sustainable solutions.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I strive to learn more about the impact of human actions on nature so that I can apply this knowledge to my projects.</p><p><br/></p><p>I now observe nature more closely and recognize its connections, applying this to my daily work.</p><p><br/></p><p>If I improved my writing skills, I would write about advocate for environmental protection, just as Carson did with her books.</p>]]></description>
