To create a new concept album with all my special fx in a surround sound experiment and experience. The theme will be space vampires losing their lineage throughout history waiting in space for their time to come . The music will be modern dance combined with baroque style music. It will make reference to my other concept albums. Sonically and thematically. I may choose different dance styles from J.S.Bachs Suites. Examples may be a Gavot or a sarabande. I may just to write in 3/4 6/8 or 4/4.

I believe I may combine different sections of different time signatures to give the track some character as if it’s looking back on these genres through flashbacks in time.

This will be an original piece inspired by baroque style music, I will need to choose a specific type of piece, this may be a type of dance as that will be fitting for the style of music(electronic dance). I want to have a composition plan ready by thinking of instruments sections and arrangements.

I might want to record some real life sounds for either use in the project as samples or just reference points for how I design my extra sounds that will go at the beginning and end of the track. These are themed in some way towards creating a tense and haunting atmosphere. I may add sounds like chains dangling or computer generated noises to suit the space shuttle atmosphere. It’s hard to explain without doing these practically .

Since I haven’t been active for a few months my creative writing hasn’t been its best, especially with period music. So when the time comes I will get on my logic project and maybe force a soprano line out using theory. I’ll consider shape contouring and repeating motifs. Maybe I’ll add a few trills in there as this was common in the 17th century.

It sounds like a tinny sound vibrating with a warping note being pitched up from a mid low frequency starting in the mid bass region of our hearing range. I’m sure there’s more to it so I saved the post and hopefully I can come back to it at a later date.

I thought that though I had extra time I’d be done by now but my tracks don’t feel finished to me, I suppose they are as finished as they possibly can be and that if I hadn’t been very unwell I would have gotten them done quicker. Time management is key to completing these works these days as I often do leave projects for a while. I have learnt that I need to plan my work better instead of just working on it when I can (if it has a deadline). The best part about this project was that learning I can produce different styles and genres, I’m going for a new kind of style and genres in this album and I want that to be apparent. I feel I have reached some goals but not everything I wanted to do. I had to step back and create an edit version and I didn’t know how to achieve that although I have been thinking about it for a long time. The edit will serve its purpose as a track introduction or a breather between tracks in the album, it leads into the first cut of the project which I will upload today before five o’clock. I’ve learned a few production tips and have managed to recognise things better in the mix like how the kick drum got lost in the mix and the use of different techniques to make my sounds less one dimensional. I learned about how Indonesian gamelan works too and have incorporated it into the main track to create intrigue and structures. I now think that less is more with mixing although I didn’t really get to test my project on mixing speakers as I need to set my studio up again and I don’t have the equipment yet, I used headphones to mix the music mostly and a Bluetooth speaker to clarify certain elements to me. As I said that less plugins on the track made for better sounding instruments and that the track doesn’t feel bogged down with heavy compression or any peaking either. Unlike my last attempt at mixing songs for an album I have managed to create something that is a bit more consistent and doesn’t have too much going on. I would say there’s a few things I may change in the future as I will be using these tracks again like the bass line in the first track. Maybe I could have less notes playing and go for a more rhythmic movement. I couldn’t get my computer to record my work and need to get some software set up so I can, that would help with showing my knowledge of production and music making. I feel that I have documented the process well and that due to the fact being this isn’t as large a project as I normally do there isn’t enough processing to show off, in future I will make sure to show more of what I know if it is needed.
