It talks about a boy named Seth Barham who has to face many difficulties in life. At a young age, his father died and he was left with his mother. When Seth and his mom got back from their flight after trying to sue the people where his father died at, he went by himself to the park but not the close one to his house one a little further away so people didn't comment on what had happen to his dad. That is where he would meet his new best friend Jimmy Winter who was playing baseball with his daddy. Jimmy ran to get a ball close to seth and then he saw him just swinging there . He said " hey im jimmy do you wanna play, i have an extra glove''. they ended wanting to hang out again and eventually they would hang out everyday. 
when seth got good enough he could tryout to make the same team as jimmy. seth was not good enough so he got put on a bad team but still played his heart out. seth played hard and didn't succeed but always never gave up.
