         <title>EDU-470-background data on current placement </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>My current student teaching placement is in the Bergen County Special Services school district, specifically the autism continuum. </p><p><br/></p><p>Within the continuum, the racial demographic within the last 5 years remains consistent with Hispanic students garnering the top percentile of enrollees (35.1%) followed by White students at 35.1% and Blacks and Asians between 14.2% and 10.4%. The smallest racial group of enrollees is Native Americans at .5%.</p><p>Student groups show that a staggering 78-80% of students are males and within the 20-25% range are females. </p><p><br/></p><p>For most students, the primary language utilized at home is English and Spanish follows with 14.2%. There is currently no information on family’s household income or the number of students who receive reduced or free lunch.</p><p> </p><p>However, demographic data shows that the number of economically disadvantaged students within the last five years ranges between 15-17% with most of the population comprising of students with disabilities.</p><p><br/></p><p>My school is in the 9th congressional district.The district’s greatest concern is preparing students and families for life after graduation and finding suitable employment and placements in over 21 programs.&nbsp; Stakeholders work to build partnerships within the community to foster relationships that are long-term and of benefit to alumni.</p>]]></description>
