In order to cover their faces, they made Christmas masks of Santa Claus and elves. They had rehearsals of the song in English and in their native language and how to wish "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" in English and Greek for their Spanish pen pals. They truly enjoyed all the process.

They referred to their age, their favourite colours and sports.

Greek students were so happy to receive their first letters from their Spanish pen pals. They opened them and started reading what their pen pals had written to them. They were very excited for receiving wonderful handmade bookmarks as a gift from their pen pals.

eTwinning Project Evaluation Report

• Initial Awareness: The vast majority of the students (93.6%) had never heard of eTwinning before participating in this project. Only a small fraction (6.4%) was familiar with the platform.

• Student Recommendation: Despite being new to the concept, the project was an overwhelming success, with 95.7% of pupils stating they would recommend the eTwinning experience to their peers.

2. Innovation and Engagement

• School Innovation: There was a unanimous consensus (100%) among the students that the eTwinning project was an innovative addition to their school’s curriculum.

• Future Participation: The desire to continue is extremely high, as 97.9% of the participants expressed that they would like to repeat the experience in the future.

• Cultural Awareness: The project achieved its core goal of cultural exchange perfectly, with 100% of students reporting that they learned new things about another culture.

• Language Skills: The impact on English language learning was also significant. 97.9% of students felt that their competence in the English language improved through their participation.

• Time Management: All students (100%) agreed that the project tasks were fulfilled within the designated timeframes.

Students showed high levels of enjoyment across all activities, with the following highlights:

• Top Favorites: "Christmas carols" reached a 100% enjoyment rate, followed closely by the "Students' presentation video" and "Singing the e-safety song" (both at 97.9%).

• Communication Activities: Receiving letters and cards (93.6%) was slightly more popular than writing them. For example, writing about daily routines had the lowest (yet still very high) enjoyment rate at 83%.

• Writing Feedback: When asked specifically about writing letters/cards, 74.5% enjoyed it fully, 21.3% enjoyed it "sometimes," and only a negligible number did not enjoy it.

6. The Pen-Pal Experience

• Emotional Impact: Receiving mail from a friend in another school was a highlight for 97.9% of students. This experience evoked strong positive emotions: 66% felt excited and 29.8% felt happy.

• Comprehension: Understanding their pen pal's writing presented a moderate challenge. While 40.4% found it easy, 42.6% found it only "a little" easy to understand, and 17% struggled with it.

• Visual vs. Textual: Regarding Christmas cards, students were more drawn to the visual elements (72.3%) than the written wishes (27.7%).

Conclusion

The evaluation results indicate an exceptionally successful project. The program managed to introduce a new educational tool (eTwinning) and turn it into a highly valued experience. The students benefited not only linguistically and culturally but also emotionally, through the excitement of international communication. The high level of teacher support and peer collaboration provided a stable foundation for these achievements.
