Eminem (Marshall Mathers) -

If you were to take a look at Marshall’s life, you would have never thought he would be the person he is today. Back before he was famous, Marshall lived a pretty crappy life. He was a dead-beat white guy who lived with his mom. They lived in a trailer park, He would go to underground rap battles and would hold himself back. And to top all that off, he was a white male, in a musical genre dominated and controlled by black men. This didn’t make him any less talented but it’s difficult to succeed in something when your not necessarily accepted from the get-go just because of the color of your skin.

Marshall overcame all of these obstacles though. HHe started to talk and rap about what was on his mind and the emotions he was feeling. He really created his own sub-genre of rap. When he would choke on stage during these underground rap battles he would always think too much and get stage fright. But eventually, he stopped with that. He would focus on the moment and go with his gut. Are you probably wondering, how did he overcome the challenge of being white? Well, he didn’t really overcome it, he more of worked around it. He didn’t let the fact of him being white get in the way of his career. He talked about the stuff that people of any race can feel and real emotions that most people have. This is what made him so special and made him blow up (it also helped that he was founded and supported by Dr.Dre).

Fast-forward a little bit and now he's arguably one of the best rappers to ever live. He completely changed the “rap game” with a whole sub-genre of rap and inspired many people to rap. 

  Selena had her first ¨concert¨ when she was around the age of 10, They didn't do so well and after that her siblings wanted to give up, and so did Selena. Selena was told to stop singing and trying because she was a Latina that couldn't speak spanish, dance, and she was female but her dad never let her give up. 

  Her family opened up a restaurant and Selena Y Los Dinos, (her band name) played and she started to get more noticed. Her father taught her how to sing in spanish and  learned to speak Spanish fluently. She then took off with her singing and her band and won ¨best female vocalist of the year" and "performer of the year."  She also open her own clothing line run by the president of her fan club Yolanda. She continued to go strong and won the grammys for best mexican-american album. 

Selena was shot and killed by the president of her fan club Yolanda and after that her first english album ¨Dreaming of you¨ was released.

How was he an underdog?
Percy Jackson a child that couldn’t stay in one school for no longer than one year, but he still didn’t give up. Percy Jackson is a character in Rick Riordan book series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” and “Hero of Olympus”. In the first series, Percy started as a 12-year-old in a school soon to get kicked out, because he didn’t seem fit for the school. Teachers never seemed to know how to help him, because he had ADHD along with dyslexia. He was constantly bullied because he wasn’t “smart” and he never had a lot of money. His mom and his stepdad barley were able to pay for rent. His Stepdad was also a drunk and treated Percy horribly. Even with all that happened and people not believing he would succeed he always kept going to try and make his mom proud, he wanted to succeed for her

 As Percy Jackson got older he grew out being an underdog. He became one of the strongest demigods and a fantastic leader. People started to look up to him and strived to be him as he got older. When he started high school at Godde he finally was able to go to the school for two years in a row. Percy Jackson became someone that has beaten the odds, even when the gods didn’t think he could make it past his first quest. Percy has become a known camper of camp half-blood and a huge role model to all. Percy Jackson was able to succeed even when people and gods were against him, and he proved both of them wrong.

Now, BTS has broken many world records and have sold about 1,203,533 of their albums in Korea alone and is still rising internationally. They’ve made appearances on shows and won many awards. They also gain a lot of money and have become very successful. They rose up by practicing for hours on their music and dedicating themselves to their fans. Their fans are called ARMY and BTS have been releasing music since June 12, 2013 which is their debut date. They proved all of those people who told them they would never be idols wrong and have been better since they debuted.

Rosa Parks -

 Rosa Parks was unprivileged and treated poorly her entire life. Her taking a stand changed many lives all across America. You would have never thought she would make a major change in America. And this is why.   

Rosa parks was in a underdog situation. She is a black woman during a time where being black could hurt you in so many ways. She chose not to move from her seat when a white man told her to. Right then she already lost because she is black women during a time white rule over the African race. 

In a way Rosa parks did win because after she has took that stand during that time, people everywhere started to take a stand as well. From there everything started to slowly change. Instead of people taking the bus they walked to places they had to be at and because of that  the buses started to lose money and people just avoided taking the bus. Since then everything has changed any kind of race can sit anywhere on a bus and now in days go to the same school. 

Rocky was getting beaten up and losing. Round 2 was done and his trainer told him to get out there until he remembered his old trainer telling him to get out there.

How Rocky won is because clubber lang the boxer he was fighting kept making fun him of saying he’s ain't nothing.Then he remembered his old trainer that had passed away. Telling him wait till he gets tired then attack. So what Rocky did was he kept telling the boxer Clubber lang to keep punching him like COME ON! Until Clubber lang was getting tired. Until Rocky Attack him and knocked him out.

 

Why he wasn't supposed to win:

MLK was a black man that stood up for his rights. Because he was black in a time were blacks didn't have the same rights as whites, he was discriminated and wasn't treated the same as the whites, he worked for a big portion of his life for equality and he did have a lot supporters but he also had a lot of enemies, some of which that wanted him dead.

Why he did win:

MLK was fighting for the rights of a hole race, so naturally, he had the support of all of the blacks, but he also had the help of some whites that thought that the way people treated the blacks.

Why he wasn’t supposed to win:

Jackie Robinson was the first African american to play baseball in a white team, his dad left him and his mom when he was little, people thought that he was never gonna make it because he was black, his teammates were mean to him, and used to call him names, and his teammates didn’t want Jackie Robinson in their team.

Why did he win:

Jackie Robinson didn’t let people bring him down, he didn’t fight back every time people would say stuff to him. Jackie Robinson had two friends that would tell him to never give up and he never did, and that’s how he became the best baseball player of all time.
