First, measure the desired amount of rice using a measuring cup and place it in the rice cooker pot. After that, rinse the rice with clean water two or three times to remove excess starch and any impurities. This step helps make the rice softer and less sticky.

Next, add water to the pot. The amount of water usually depends on the type of rice, but a common ratio is one cup of rice to about one and a half cups of water. Many rice cooker pots have water level markings that can help measure the correct amount.

Once the water has been added, place the pot back into the rice cooker and close the lid securely. Then press the cooking button to start the cooking process. The rice cooker will heat the water until it is absorbed by the rice.

Finally, when the rice is fully cooked, the cooker will automatically switch to “warm” mode. It is recommended to let the rice rest for about 5–10 minutes before opening the lid. After that, gently fluff the rice with a rice paddle before serving.

1. Use a rice washing bowl to rinse the rice thoroughly before cooking. This will remove excess starch and impurities from the rice.

2. Soak the rice in water for at least 30 minutes before cooking. This will help the rice to cook evenly and absorb moisture better.

3. For brown rice, use 2 1/2 cups of water per cup of rice, and cook for a longer time than white rice.

4. Once the rice is cooked, let it sit in the rice cooker for 10-15 minutes before serving. This will allow the rice to absorb any remaining moisture and become fluffier.

5. Use a non-stick rice cooker bowl or add a tablespoon of oil to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the bowl.
