It was amazing! However, I must confess that I was a bit shy and confused! (too much new faces). The children seemed surprised when their teacher presented me. Some of them smiled and others looked at me seriously! As it was expected, my presence changed some behaviours on students! Some talkative became shy and vice versa! I accompanied children while they were drawing, singing and playing! Before singing the last song, they drew a butterfly and cut it around! Can I tell you a secret? Yes! Some of them ask me for help!

It was based on the analysis of the routine of the lesson. The teacher started it with a 'Hello Song' and then she focused on the Lexis by kinaesthetic activities. As the theme of the class was 'Parts of the Body', she stood up and repeated the most important ones together with mime and gestures. In this way, the children repeated words like 'head', 'shoulder', 'knee', etc; as touching their body on the part mentioned. Then, we took off some sheets and started a 'listen and draw' activity. The teacher said 'draw two noses!'; once the children finished the teacher gave another order and so on! Here we can see a 'mooooonsterrrrrrrrr'

It was wonderful! this time I focused on observing the way topics were presented and the methodolgy of the class. The teacher played the 'Hello song' and took off some pictures of a hand, a mouth, a nose, eyes and ears. The students sat in circle on the floor and were asked what were those pictures. For example, 'what is this? is it an ear? a hand?' As those pictures were identified, the teacher pasted them on the wall and started to ask children: 'what can we do with the ear?, what can we do with the mouth?' and so on. At the same time, pictures of different objects were introduced and pasted next to the senses that the children associated to those objects. For example, one of the pictures showed a cake; so, the children identified those cake with the mouth! Here we have a photo of the finished work!

The topic was 'The senses'. Apart from doing the routine ('Hello Song') and revising the parts of the body with the song 'Head and Shoulders, knees and toes', we painted some picture cards and pasted them on a chart bellow the sense they identified the object. For example, if they painted an apple, then they pasted it bellow a mouth because we can taste it! As we have some more time until the class is finished, they sat on chairs and started to draw what I said to them. For example, 'Draw two noses', or 'draw one ear'

All I can say is that was fantastic! Following our main topic, 'The body and the senses', we sang and danced the 'Hello song'! . Then, in order to revise the first topic (the body), we cut out parts of a child's body and pasted them on a paper. As usual, children asked for colouring! This activity was so fascinating for them that when I wanted to change for the following activity we were at four minutes to finish the class! Oh my God!
Thus, we tidy up the classroom and played some music to spare children's mind!
So as to call their attention, I put on a hat and handed a bag with lots of things to hear, taste, see, touch and smell. Moreover, I used a board with pictures of a hand, a nose, eyes, an ear and a mouth in order to clasify those things meaningfully and in a real world!

Again, the main topic was the body and the senses. We started the class singing and dancing 'The Hello song' and we played the game of the senses. It consisted on a bag full of things to hear, taste, touch, smell and see together with a board which had pictures of a hand, a nose, eyes, ears and a mouth. One child had to pick up something from this bag and answer the following question: 'what can you do with it? can you taste it, hear it...?' Once that question was answered and the element was identifyed with the senses, we placed it on the board next to the correct body part. After that, we sang the 'Head and shoulders song' and we moved to another activity which consisted on listening and colour! Chilren were given some sheets of paper contaning pictures of noses, hand, etc. Once they have them on hand, they were also given a pencil to colour and I started to tell them: Paint two noses... one ear... etc; and they did it. Here we can see the elements that we use to play the 'game of the senses':

It was a nice lesson! We sang and danced 'the hello song' and the children sat down to do the most important part of the lesson;'the senses chart'. The activity consisted on choosing a child to pick up a picture of many elements that we can perceive with our senses. For example, pictures of a radio, food, people and flowers. As they picked up those images, I asked them: 'what is it?, 'what can we do with it? can we smell it, hear it?' As they answered, those pictures were pasted on a chart below the parts of the body ivolved with the senses: a nose, a hand, eyes, ears and a mouth. Here we can see a photo of the finished work:
