Assessments:
1. They have changed the interface of the assessments and added what short-answer question options.
2. Use new assessment features in an e-Class led lesson with release modules.

Safari Montage:
1. You can now add content to any of your playlists, copied to another playlist, or moved to another playlist.
2. Use the playlist feature to create a playlist that covers multiple facets of a topic.

-There is a new look to the Assessments tool on eClass that allows special formatting.
-They have added the option of long answer response questions
Discussions
-Discussions can be assigned to specific groups and filtered to more easily see each group's responses.
-They are now organized by topic, with the restriction properties located in each topic/forum

The group discussions section of eClass has been updated to be more user-friendly and easier to grade. Assessments have been changed over the last few months to include not only multiple choice options, but short answer and long answer options as well.
Both of these options could be used to include in a lesson or even an entire unit and can be incorporated into the gradual release model. The discussion board could be used for a group project/assignment to view student understanding for the "You do together" portion, then the students can go to the assessment section for the "you do alone" portion.

HTML Editor:
There is a bug with the tables and quicklink to a picture. To add a table, the easiest work around is to do a table in MSword and copy.
For the quicklink to a picture-- you need to insert in the embed code for "&tl" "<"
They have also added some updated math equation symbols!

I learned that February the assessment tool is adding long essay options.

Starting on April 3, Safari Montage will enhance its sharing capabilities.

What I learned: Discussions have been updated so teachers can create one topic per group or on topic with threads separated by group. From the students' perspective, they will see the thread to which they are assigned. If teachers apply the settings as described, it will create a simplified way to view and grade student responses.
How I will implement: I will try the different settings for group discussions. One setting allows groups to be randomized, so I will not have to manually add students to a group. I will also try creating a topic with threads separated by group.

Group discussions have now been divided into groups. When you create a forum, you can now create groups. This makes it easier for you to grade for each class.
They also improved safari montage playlists.

Safari Montage is now giving the option to take content from 1 playlist and allowing you to add it to another playlist. You can also add segments of videos to a playlist.

The discussion board now allows for students to have a topic with threads separated by groups, which is great for projects.

What I learned: Creating tables has a bug, but there are work-arounds. One way is to create a table in Microsoft Word, then copy and paste it into the HTML Editor space. Be sure to click "keep formatting."
How I will implement: I will use the Microsoft Word work-around if I create tables in the HTML Editor.

E-class discussion boards are allowing easier grouping and grading of posts. Groups can reply in a thread in a specific location and to a specific prompt.

I learned that Safari Montage can be entered into a playlist. You can now add multiple videos to one playlist as well as pieces of a video.

Group discussions have been divided into groups. Teachers can also view discussions posts more easily and can place certain restrictions on the posts.
