Session 1: God’s Masterpiece

This session opens to talk about the definition of family as designed by God, and how the world
has distorted this definition. In the end, the participants are to be exhorted to protect the family
as designed and portrayed by the Holy Family.

This is the first time I heard about this perspective about the Holy family.. how it is not the typical family set up but it is the model family.. And I love that it emphasizes on the love that the family is giving to one another regardless of the set up and roles. I hope more people realize that families don't necessarily have to fit the norms to be called and accepted as a family.

Session 2: Love Beyond Measure

After appreciating the gift of family, participants are led to understand the attacks on the family,
prevailing today. From this understanding, they are then encouraged on how to show love to
their family in order to defend its sacredness, while upholding its values.

Session 3: Way Back Home

This session focuses on the singles’ relationship with their parents. Though imperfect and
sometimes full of misunderstanding, they are still ought to be considered as an integral part of
who we are.

In the field where I belong as educator and youth trainer, I always say to my students that we belong to one family and I treat them as my own, even though Im not their biological father but in my heart as I always say to them "mga anak", touching one's heart of a child is one of my greatest experiences. Nurturing and molding every child to become better as my own.

Kami ay kabilang sa pangalawang pamilya ng akong ina..ang relasyon at turingan nmen ng una ang maganda sa umpisa until the time came , that the only prayer and faith nalang ang nagawa ko para manatili ang aming ugnayan.

Session 3

Nang mawalang pareho ang magulang namen, niyakap ko ng subrang higpit ang mga pangaral ng aking ama't ina tungkol sa pamilya. Kung di ko man mahigitan ang kanilang binahaging pagmamahal sa amin, magawa ko sanang maging mabuting magulang sa darating.

Session 4: Friendship of a Lifetime

This session focuses on the singles’ relationship with his/her siblings. In this session, their
brothers and sisters are introduced as ones’ first “friendship”, realizing that our siblings are
always here to accompany us.

Session 5: Love that Conquers All

The final session prepares the participants to go from the weekend and be able to become a
positive force or influence in their own families. That we should always be connected to our true
source of love and be able to appreciate the great gift of family that the Lord has blessed us with.
Despite the many imperfections of our family we are always called to be a source of love and
reconciliation.
