These are some effects of the Lewis and Clark expedition. The first effect was that they gained knowledge of routes through Louisiana and gained more land for the United States. This is a positive effect because it caused them to gain more knowledge about the US. Another effect was that they gave tribes pipe tomahawks, sheet iron, flannel, handkerchiefs, combs, and much more to befriend the tribes. This is a positive effect because they were gaining the trust of tribes and working together with them. The
final effect was that the knowledge they gained on the trip President Jefferson could make better decisions regarding the westward expansion of the US. This is also a positive effect because the president had gained more land so that the US could grow.

LEFT BEHIND- During Lewis and Clark’s expedition they would give gifts that included pipe tomahawks, sheet iron, flannel, handkerchiefs, combs, and much more to the tribes throughout their path. This impacted the natives because they would gain supplies they never had and they knew they would have to leave their land for the Americans.

TOOK- During Lewis and Clark’s expedition they collected Buffalo meat, Some dried Salmon berries & roots from the native tribes along the way.

These are some effects of colonization. The first effect was that people like natives were being removed from their land and were forced to live somewhere else. This is a negative effect because natives didn't want to give their land to others because that is where they grew up and learned their culture and traditions. They also worked hard to create everything on the land. Another effect was people were gaining foreign plant and animal species. This is a positive effect because it was spreading
plants and animals like barley, rye, sugar, bananas, citrus fruit, and wheat to America and other places. The final effect was natives established long term hostilities. This is negative
because natives, and their rivals would lose many of their people to death and imprisonment.

"The Silver fox this animal is very rare even in the country where it exists; I have never seen more than the Skins of this animal and those were in the possession of the natives of the woody Country below the great falls of the Columbia"
This is very special because it was written in Lewis’s journal and it shows that he figured out what a silver fox was by the skins the natives had. Also that the foxes were very rare.

This is a picture of the original map Lewis and Clark drew along the way. It is important because it was the whole reason the US had an expansion.

These sources are different, because Source one- It shows the explorers thoughts on the expedition of the animal hides and importance of the animals.
Source two- This source shows the map that Lewis and Clark made and doesn't show his thoughts or emotions while on the expedition.
