First we would find a picture then postersize it. Next we would divide it into squares. After that we would do a basic out of the main shapes in the picture. Then we would slowly shade it to match the shading in the photo. A challenge I faced last time was the squares but this time we used a pice of paper under it instead of drawing the squares on the drawing which made it look a lot better. I enjoyed this project.

For this portrait, I had a little trouble finding a good angle for my photo. With a little help, I got a good angle and I printed off my photo. I taped a grid to it and the drawing process began! As I was shading, I faced the challenge of making my ovals round. The grid really helped me overcome this challenge. I found that the shading was very time consuming near the end of my process. Although, I am satisfied with my outcome.

We went on the computer and changed the photo to black and white and the shade of it. Then we printed it and traced the basic outline. After that we attached a grid.

While I was creating my portraits, I faced a challenge with the left eye where it did not lol quite right, so I fixed it by taking it slowly and making sure the eye was proportional to the face. The steps to making the portrait were simple: first, you had to choose, crop, and turn the photo into a black and white image. Once you printed it out, you must place a transparent grid sheet over it and a grid under your final draft. Then, start drawing the outline. Once the outline isn’t finished, start to shade. As soon as you are done shading, you are finished and you can hang your portrait. Overall, I liked drawing the graphite portrait.

For my portrait project, I decided to shade a picture of Officer Tim. The process of this project is having the correct materials and steps to create this graphite shading project. Our class watched a we video then separately answered questions about the video of teaching us shading techniques. To make this portrait a little more accurate, we used a scaling grid, making the final portrait bigger scale than the printed picture. Some challenges that I had ran into were not being able to blend a certain area. I solved this problem by trying a darker shade making the places around it darker so I would be blended better. Overall, I learned a lot, like how to shade with realistic drawings. I really enjoyed this project and I will keep these skills to make better art in the future.

I watched the videos on WEvideo to show how to shade and answered questions, this helped me learn how to shade and the different techniques. After turning in and competing the circles I got a better understanding of how to shade. When I completed my portrait I wish I watched the video and chose a different image because it was hard to do the hand and shirt Mrs. Kotich had on. Overall it was a fun project and I loved shading.

Then I printed it out and laid a grid over it. I practiced using a small piece of paper, and then moved onto the real thing. The real thing was bigger and I would be unable to trace it. I started with the easy area that were just black and used a 6b pencil to make dark. I didn't really know how to shade so I just used the blender and kept what worked. One of the problems I found was the beard and mustache. I fixed this by going over lightly and then doing darker lines for the hair. Then I finished my picture and hung it up.

I scaled my picture of a desert to 8x10 and printed it off. I then sketched the major objects in the photo onto an 8x10 poster, from there I traced them onto tracing paper. then I cut out the shapes from newspaper using the tracing paper, and painted them with acrylic paint. I then mod podged the newspaper to the canvas, and painted the rest of the sunset and details with acrylic paint. It was challenging because it was tedious, and I had to take multiple steps to make each piece of my project.

instead of doing a self portrait reflection, I continued with my passion project. To start, I taped the soles of the shoes so they could remain white. Next I painted the background of the shoes light gray. After that, I outlined the roses with a pencil. Next I grabbed a shade of red and made it darker and lighter so I could have an ombré from the outside of each pedal to the inside of each pedal. Overall, this was a really fun project and I’m glad I got to do it.

When I painted the nurse at are school I wanted to smooth the layers out to make it even more realistic. I also decided to do the hair different than it was in the the photo. The hardest part was learning to do the hair. I liked this project and thought it was better than the first one.

This was a really fun project to do and I think it turned out really well.

When drawing a portrait, the best way, to properly proportion it, is to use then grid system. The grid system, is when u print out a photo, of who/what you want to draw, and placing a grid over it.Then you take the paper you are drawing it on, and put a grid under it, and put it on a window, or a light table, so you can see the under grid through the paper.

I used the window and a grid to draw my portrait. I made a light outline between each of the different shades of gray. I had a bit of trouble when I tried to do the mouth and it sort of messed up my drawing. I believe it could have been better if I had done the face first instead of the darker shades.
