According to the well-known Hadith of Jibreel, a Muslim’s faith is established upon six essential foundations:

1. Belief in Allah

At the core of Islam is the belief in the absolute oneness of Allah. He has no partners, no offspring, and no equals. The Qur’an consistently emphasizes His uniqueness, His role as the Creator, and His boundless mercy. This belief is expressed through daily worship—prayer, recitation of the Qur’an, reflection on creation, and dedicating acts of devotion to Allah alone.

2. Belief in the Angels (Malaikah)

Angels are noble beings created from light, entrusted with carrying out Allah’s commands. Some are assigned to record human deeds, while others deliver revelation. All of them are in constant glorification of Allah. Remembering their existence encourages Muslims to live righteously and remain conscious of their actions.

3. Belief in the Divine Scriptures (Kutub)

Allah revealed several scriptures to guide humankind: the Tawrat (Torah), Zabur (Psalms), Injil (Gospel), and finally, the Qur’an. Each served as guidance in its respective era. For Muslims, the Qur’an is the final, complete, and preserved revelation. Its miraculous nature is shown through its fulfilled prophecies, unmatched eloquence, internal consistency, preservation, harmony with scientific truths, and comprehensive guidance for all aspects of life.

Conclusion

Belief in Allah, His angels, and His scriptures forms a fundamental part of Islamic faith. These pillars provide believers with clarity, guidance, and wisdom—shaping a way of life rooted in truth, devotion, and obedience to the Creator.

Muslims firmly believe that this worldly life is temporary and will one day come to an end. On the Day of Resurrection (Qiyamah), all people will be brought back to life (al-Hashr) and presented before Allah for judgment. Every action, whether good or evil, will be accounted for. The righteous will be rewarded with eternal bliss in Paradise, while those who reject faith and persist in sin will face punishment in Hellfire.

This belief was central to the teachings of all prophets. It shapes how Muslims view life, constantly reminding them of accountability and the eternal consequences of their choices. For believers, it strengthens their awe of Allah, inspires longing to meet Him—knowing that the greatest joy of Paradise is seeing His Face—and instills both hope and fear. It encourages good deeds, generosity, patience, and resilience in the face of life’s trials.

Belief in Divine Decree (Qada’ and Qadar)

Muslims also believe that everything occurs according to Allah’s perfect wisdom and divine plan, already recorded in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (the Preserved Tablet).

Qadar refers to Allah’s eternal knowledge and pre-measure of all things.

Qada refers to the actual bringing about of what He has decreed.

There are four aspects of this belief:

Knowledge – Allah’s knowledge encompasses the past, present, future, and even all possibilities.

Writing – Every matter has already been written in the Preserved Tablet.

Will – Nothing happens without Allah’s will and permission.

Creation – Allah is the Creator of all beings and events.

For believers, this faith nurtures inner peace, humility, and contentment. It reminds them to rely on Allah completely while still striving and taking action. It removes jealousy, since every blessing is by Allah’s decree, and it strengthens patience, resilience, and trust in Him.

Belief in the Prophets and Messengers

Allah sent prophets to every nation, each with the same essential call: to worship Allah alone without partners. All messengers were truthful, trustworthy, and conveyed Allah’s message faithfully. Believing in them all is compulsory; rejecting even one is disbelief. The chain of messengers culminates with Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the Seal of the Prophets and a mercy to all creation.

The prophets shared one faith (Tawhid), though their laws and practices sometimes differed. They guided people away from idol worship, clarified the purpose of life, showed the path to Paradise, and served as practical examples of righteousness. Their mission also established Allah’s proof against mankind, leaving no excuse for disbelief.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was given unique blessings: his message is universal for humans and jinn, his enemies were struck with awe, the earth was made a place of prayer and purification, spoils of war were permitted, and he was granted the greatest intercession on the Day of Judgment.

Applying Prophetic Guidance in Daily Life

Muslims are encouraged to embody the values taught and lived by the Prophet ﷺ:

Gratitude in all circumstances.

Forgiveness and tolerance.

Regular repentance.

Simplicity and balance in living.

Equality among people.

Patience through trials.

Humility, avoiding pride.

Accountability and self-reflection.

Compassion towards all, regardless of treatment received.

Adab of Seeking Knowledge

• Every soul will experience death.

• The soul then enters Barzakh (the intermediate realm) until the Day of Resurrection.

• In Barzakh, the deceased is questioned by the angels Munkar and Nakir.

• Minor signs: loss of trust, widespread sins, ignorance, disunity among Muslims, prevalence of immoral acts.

• Major signs: appearance of the Dajjal (Antichrist), descent of Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him), emergence of Gog and Magog, the sun rising from the west, great earthquakes, and other cataclysmic events.

• All human beings will be resurrected with their bodies.

• Mizan (Scale): Good and bad deeds will be weighed.

• Sirat (Bridge): A narrow path over Hellfire that everyone must cross. The righteous will pass quickly, while the sinful may fall.

teachings. It reflects gratitude, humility, and respect toward those who gave us life, care, and guidance. Showing good manners-through obedience, gentle speech, patience, and service—is a means of earning Allah's pleasure and blessings. Even when parents make mistakes or differ in opinion, children are still encouraged to treat them with kindness and dignity. In essence, maintaining adab with parents strengthens family bonds, nurtures compassion, and leads to harmony both in this world and the hereafter.

Alhamdulillah, with Allah’s will, we’ve finally reached the last day of our usrah. It feels like time passed so quickly as if it was just yesterday when we first gathered, shared stories, and learned together.

Throughout this usrah, we didn’t just gain knowledge, but also friendship, patience, and love for one another. Every meeting, every reminder, every smile meant something special. Thank you for always showing up with sincerity, for sharing your thoughts, and for making this usrah a space filled with peace, warmth, and barakah.

Even though this is our last session, I hope our bond doesn’t end here. Let’s continue to remind, support, and pray for each other no matter where life takes us. May all the knowledge and lessons we’ve shared become guidance that keeps our hearts firm in faith. 🌿

After the presentations, all members took part in a meaningful discussion about the hikmah (wisdoms) gained from the usrah sessions. Through this sharing, we reflected on how the lessons learned could be applied in our daily lives, especially in strengthening our faith, building good character, and improving our relationship with others.

To end the session, each member shared their most memorable or highlight moment from the usrah journey. Some mentioned how the discussions inspired them, while others shared how the bonds formed made them feel supported and connected. Overall, the reflection and presentation week was a beautiful closure that reminded everyone of the purpose and blessing of being part of an usrah — to grow together in knowledge, faith, and brotherhood. 🌿

Niat is the purpose in the heart for doing something. In Islam, every action is judged based on its intention. A good intention turns an ordinary action into a rewarded act, while a wrong intention can remove its value. Niat helps guide a person to act sincerely, responsibly, and with the right purpose, even if the result is small.

Hikmah (Wisdom)

Hikmah means wisdom or the deeper benefit behind something. It refers to understanding why something is done and the good that comes from it. Hikmah helps a person act wisely, make good decisions, and learn lessons from experiences. In Islam, hikmah leads to balance, maturity, and actions that bring benefit rather than harm.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ explained ihsan as:

“To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, then truly He sees you.”

This means a Muslim lives with constant awareness that Allah is always watching and knows what is in the heart. Because of this awareness, a person with ihsan tries to do every act in the best way possible whether it is praying, studying, working, helping others, or even being patient.

1. Shahadah (Faith) – Declaring that “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger.” This is the core belief in Islam.

2. Salah (Prayer) – Performing the five daily prayers to connect with Allah and remember Him.

3. Zakat (Charity) – Giving a portion of wealth to the needy to purify your wealth and help others.

4. Sawm (Fasting) – Fasting during Ramadan to develop self-discipline, empathy, and closeness to Allah.

5. Hajj (Pilgrimage) – Performing the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in a lifetime if able, showing unity and submission to Allah.

In short: Rukun Islam are the key acts that show a Muslim’s faith through belief, worship, charity, self-discipline, and devotion.

• Develop self-discipline and control over desires

• Increase empathy for the poor and needy

• Draw closer to Allah through worship, prayer, and reflection

• Purify the soul and seek forgiveness

Fasting is not just about hunger , it is about spiritual growth, patience, and sincerity in obeying Allah.

• Focus on Allah: Being aware that Allah is watching and listening to your prayer.

• Control your mind: Avoid distractions and worldly thoughts.

• Sincerity: Praying with genuine devotion, not just for show.

• Feelings of submission: Showing humility, fear, and love for Allah while standing, bowing, and prostrating.

In short: Solat with khusyu’ is praying with heart and mind fully present, making your worship meaningful and accepted by Allah.

We highlights al-tadhiyyah (sacrifice) as pilgrims give up comfort, status, and routine in obedience to divine command. Taqwã is emphasised as the ultimate goal of hajj, cultivated through patience, self-restraint, and constant remembrance of Allah during the rites. Through practical planning and a hajj simulation, participants gain hands-on understanding of rituals such as ihrăm, tawaf, sa i, wuqüf, stoning, mabit, and tahallul, along with their spiritual meanings. The session concludes by reminding participants that the true measure of an accepted hajj is lasting transformation in character, humility, and devotion long after the journey ends
