They asked women about gender roles and according to data from ENDIREH 2003 they indicate that 43% of women who do not suffer domestic violence answered that "a good wife must obey her partner in everything he orders"; however, among those who experience violence from their partner, the proportion is lower (36 percent). This could show that obedience towards the husband generates less violence in the couple, promoting the stereotype of the obedient wife.

SOLUTION
Children learn everything they see, so this is why we propose to promote a culture in which gender equality is the most important thing so that children learn that men and women are equal and have the same rights and understand that they can do the same tasks and that the fact of doing something classified as feminine/masculine being a man/woman is not bad. For this, gender equality must also be promoted from home so that children see their parents as an example to respect the opposite gender at all times.

SOLUTION
Harassment in the streets is an extremely minimized problem, day by day women suffer from men throwing compliments at us, whistling at us or touching us without our consent, 27% of women in Mexico faced this type of violence according to a survey by the Institute of Statistics and Geography carried out in 2019. This is a situation that shouldn’t be normalized, we all have the right to go out in the street without fear, so we propose that schools make this situation known so that children learn that throwing out compliments at someone in the street is totally wrong and that they should never touch someone without their consent. Safe spaces should also be created in the streets for people who are suffering from harassment in the street so that they can enter these places and feel safe.

Ashley:
My parents opinions are like normal, they do believe women and men should gain equally and should have equal tasks but they do have a little misogynistic thinking that if a women gains less money is because they are not working hard enough and that’s not true because of the society we live for women everything (or almost everything) is harder and they have to work extra harder to get it than a men.
Mariangel:
The opinion of my parents is that they disagree with the inequality of opportunities that women present because of oppression, they are in favor of being able to do something at home and at work since their gender doesn't define anything

Aida:
My parents believe that both women and men should have the same job opportunities, and also have the same rights, whether it be education, that they have the right to the same salary, and that they be treated equally. but my mom tells me that my dad does have a bit of internalized misogyny, since he is usually very different with men than with women.

A gender stereotype is harmful when it limits women’s and men’s capacity to develop their personal abilities, pursue their professional careers and/or make choices about their lives.
Gender stereotyping refers to the practice of ascribing to an individual woman or man specific attributes, characteristics, or roles by reason only of her or his membership in the social group of women or men. Gender stereotyping is wrongful when it results in a violation or violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms.

Examples include:

Not criminalizing marital rape, perceiving that women are the sexual property of men; and

Failing to investigate, prosecute and sentence sexual violence against women, believing that victims of sexual violence agreed to sexual acts, as they were not dressing and behaving “modestly”.

OHCHR.

Despite the fact that women outnumber men in the paid workforce, women still do more of the domestic work and childcare — almost twice as much as their male partners. The pandemic has closed many schools and daycare centers, creating childcare scarcity and exacerbating the stresses and strains of caregiving, home-schooling, and domestic duties, especially for dual-earner mothers who were already doing more unpaid work. Even with expanded use of telework and flexible work arrangements by many businesses, working from home isn’t necessarily easier when parents are juggling job responsibilities, full-time childcare, and supervision of children’s education.
The healthcare industry is female-dominated (25 of 30 occupations are majority women), many of these families include a husband who is taking on primary caregiver and household responsibilities during the pandemic.

The “double shift”

“While women face inequality in the world of work, they also face inequalities in the home. Around the world, women do three times as much unpaid care work as men. As one of many examples around the world, the “double shift” is a fact of life for millions of women in China, who go out to work but then do the lion’s share of work in the home as well. On average, they work nearly nine hours a day, and only about half of that is paid.” (Krishnan, M., Madgavkar, A., Ellingrud, K., Yee, L., Hunt, D.
