This is the theme of the book because it happens several times throughout the book. One example of this was when Percy ran into Medusa.  He thought that she was a normal person giving them free food.  He was wrong the lady turned out to be Medusa and she wanted to turn them into stone.  A second example of this is when  Percy met the lady on the elevator and she had a friendly dog and was being friendly. But, he was wrong the lady turned out to be another person that wanted to kill him. So, when he went to the very last floor on the building she turned into her monster self and tried to kill him. " Percy Jackson" is alike "Empire of Storms" because Aelin   (the main character) also controls water and she's on a quest to regain her kingdom. Also, the theme is alike because several people betray her and turn on her. "Matched" is also like "Percy Jackson" because everyone wants to kill her, which is the same as "Percy Jackson", the theme is alike because the main character thinks that society is good . She turned out being wrong, society is really bad and unorganized so she runs away to go find her friend Ky, who has been taken away to fight in war and die. Which proves that society is bad. My last example of a book that's alike "Percy Jackson" is" Rebel of Sands." This book is alike "Percy Jackson" because the rebels are in a hidden away camp that no one knows about. Also, the theme is alike because her brother turns on her and wants to kill her, furthermore her aunt betrays her and trades her for gold. That's why" Empire of Storms", "Matched" and "Rebel of Sands" are alike to "Percy Jackson."

This theme is everywhere because people will always try to still your stuff and break it without you knowing. Also, one example of this this that adults use a lot is "watch for cars" they say this because they want us to be smart an think about it because there are reckless drivers who aren't watching the road so they will run you over if you are not looking.
