I would first tell my family face to face that I will be leaving for an indefinite amount of time. After saying goodbye I would gather essential items for survival such as some food, water, a lighter, a knife, and a map. I would leave behind anything that is not a necessity to live. In this situation a man that hears a different drummer is someone who does not follow the crowd. I believe that this means that someone can feel free to do their own thing and does not have to compare themselves to other people. For example a friend of mine scooters. I think this is a great way to be active and have fun while doing it, although many people may disagree and say that scootering is uncool. Characters in the show need to be self-reliant to survive the zombie  apocalypse if they are ever stranded or separated from a group. In addition, as strange as it might sound, there is nature everywhere in the state of Georgia, which is where the show takes place.
