(this isn't my real explanation, my real one is VERY long.) Also, there are other things to support him, like a medkit, in case he gets hurt during the war between the Witch and him. (They fought in the movie against each other.) Finally, the wardrobe itself is made out of sturdy oak wood, which symbolizes Peter's dependability and strength. There are 2 symbols that strongly represent his character in the story which is the sword and shield. These are your presents, was the answer, and they are tools not toys. The time to use them is perhaps near at hand. Bear them well. With these words he handed Peter a shield and a Sword. The shield was the color of silver and across it there ramped a red lion, as bright as a ripe strawberry at the moment when you pick it.
