Can people tell the difference between AI generated and real music?

How does music elicit emotion?

Understanding my readers values, interests, and needs can help make my paper more engaging by allowing me to better cater to them. If i know what my reader is looking for in a paper, I can be sure to include that in order to make the paper more appealing to them. In this case, my audience is people interested in the field of music generated by artificial intelligence. I do not know what they're opinion on the topic is so it is likely that in order to appeal to a wide audience, I will need to stay relatively neutral.

I think this project could go multiple ways in terms of my role. It would be easy to be an advocate, because I personally do not support AI music, however that is not the direction I think would be best for the outcome of the project. Being an impartial reporter on the subtopic within AI music that I choose to investigate would likely yield the best results.

This source gives information on the effectiveness of human-made classical music when studying. I believe this will mostly be useful as source of baseline information about my topic. I also may able to use their methods or metrics in my own study in order to determine the results of my experiment.

I believe this source will be useful during the beginning of my research, but will become less useful as I move along.

I like the idea of focusing on a specific group of students (this uses middle schoolers), I had not considered the group which I would study.

Mr. Allen should know that I do not have access to the entire source and can only read up to the lit review as I believe I have to pay for it.

I believe my problem is more practical, as the results of the study could have direct effects. If it turns out AI generated classical music is measurably better for studying, that means more people may use AI music, which is bad, both ethically and for the environment.

I should emphasize the ethical, legal, and environmental aspects of using AI to generate music.

• Ethical: AI cannot by nature create original works

• Legal: copyright issues as a result of the above

• Environmental: AI uses a lot of water

When the "so what" test is applied, it boils down to the previously mentioned problems. Regardless of the outcome of the experiment, there are obvious issues with the existence of AI generated music.
