Stacy is an important character in the story. Although, even though he is important, he is very sassy around people, and likely won't want to deal with people in a situation. All he wants is to just be there for his family so that they can all stay safe in the rough times they're going through. Stacey is also very persistent, as he does stand up to everyone including himself. And also he is living in the great depression as a black person, so he wasn't treated like every white person. Gram is very different from any other Character because she is the one that takes care of max and everyone else in the book is just one of Max's friends except his Grim which is his Granddad.
