I am angry at Congress and the states. My property was seized by the states and all that Congress did was recommend that they give my property back. Congress did not force them to give my home back because they never liked that I was loyal to Britain. Some have to lament over the wreak of their departed wealth and estates and I am one of those people. On behalf of all Loyalists, I am enraged and believe it is not fair what both the states and Congress did to me and my family.

I am overjoyed that we won the revolutionary war! We are now an independent country and free from Britain's tyranny. Though, I am upset that all the government gave me for serving my country was a certificate for land in the west, that I had to sell to buy my basic needs like food. I hope I shall one day find land enough to lay my bones in.
