Today’s session gave us the opportunity to discuss the importance of having an international policy in place at our school’s. This policy will outline how all of our school’s etwinning/ Erasmus projects will need to follow the same guidelines and overall aims and objectives. This needs to be a short document that can be shared with the staff, parents and school governors.

At Mayflower we currently have many projects being worked on by numerous pupils and staff members. Although the projects are already meeting many of the aims of global issues, we feel that by having clear guidelines in place, staff members would be able to evaluate the impact much more easily. For us, The global goals need to be and should be used as a basis to begin any international project. They are a good starting point and they allow the staff to make the projects cross-curricular. We will also make sure that when planning future projects staff are aware of the key competences and they will use these actively to steer the themes of the project.

This policy needs to be devised by the international coordinator and the school’s leadership team. Once this is completed we will post a link to the Twinspace for others to view.

Today's session focused mainly on the internalization of the curriculum and international policy. After talking about several examples to discuss the different steps to present a project, we have put in common strategies to develop the introduction, objectives and priorities at our own schools. It has been a profitable session as we have clarified enough doubts.

The topic of today was international policy. Nowadays we have to do everything to avoid racism and to educate our students to responsible and global citizens. Therefore it is absolutely necessary to have an individual international policy at each school. We have to be aware of our needs and stuck global goals so that we are able to pull together for an effective schoolwork. This can be realized in many different ways. For homework we wrote a policy for our school - the Albrecht - Dürer - Mittelschule

"We must involve the whole schoolfamily in international work."

Today's session was about internationalising the curriculum from Large Scale Policy Decisions to School Level Policies and Actions . It was very interesting because although our school has been working with European Programs for many years we do not have a key document of International Policy in which we must specify three very important points:
1.- Introduction: Why do we need to do an international project?
2.- Aims (EU Objectives): What are we going to do?
3.- Objectives: How are we going to achieve it?
This course gives me the opportunity to have it clearer to propose the necessary document to my staff. We will discuss and write it with our Dynamization Team for European programs when we will be back at school.
CEIP Plurilingüe Vista Alegre is working with International Programs since 2001 because we think that it's one of the best ways to develop citizenship skills and all the key competences in our school community. Pupil's exchanges help not only to improve language competences but also which is very important, to combat prejudice and develop a variety of social skills outdoor the classroom walls with a positive attitude.

Ten classes made me realize how important it is to know exactly the law and the European Union's education documents. Classes will help me to prepare a strategy for European school development. The day was hard working but wonderful as every other day of this course.
