In discussions of how the internet affect people, one controversial issue has been that some believe that the internet is causing people to lose focus and have shorter attention spans. On the one hand, some argue that staring at a screen is causing us to not be able to focus on things as well and is causing us to waste our time. On the other hand, other people contend that the internet is not a waste of time as we are using our time doing things we enjoy. My own view is that the internet is actually having the opposite effect on people, and is causing them to focus more.

In discussions of how the internet affect people, one controversial issue has been screentime. On the one hand, some argue we stare at clickbait for hours. On the other hand, Goldsmith contends we do many things on the internet. Others even maintain the internet is a monolith. My own view is in agreement with Goldsmith’s.

In discussions of how the internet affects people, one controversial issue has been if the internet can be good for you. On the one hand, anti-interneters argue that exposure to the internet rots your brain with false and stupid content. On the other hand, pro-internetters contend Internet use is more diverse and constructive than that. My own view is that the internet has made people more engaged and focused.

In discussions of how the internet affect people, one controversial issue has been the effect it has had on our ability to stay focused. On the one hand, some argue that the internet causes our brains to rot because of false information that is on there. On the other hand, Goldsmith contends that we use the internet to use our time doing things we enjoy. My own view is that the internet has made us be able to be more focused and concentrated.

In discussions of how the internet affect people, one controversial issue has been the lost abilities of being focused and concentrated. On the one hand, some argue that time spent on the internet is eventually lost because of false information and clickbait. On the other hand, Goldsmith contends that we use the internet for our desires. Others even maintain that they feel more concentrated and focused when doing things on the internet. My own view is that the internet offers a variety of tasks and activities to do that allows it to be engaging and not a waste of time.
