On these days, we derive pleasure by not having to work. This creates a cycle where people work and all work they look forward to the ability to be home and experience the relief, joy, and pleasure of being away from work. In addition to this, people can form addictions to the things they derive pleasure from. It is a way to relieve stress. However, it is also used recreation-ally as it gives pleasure to the user. Also in this dystopian society are the feelies. This is a form of entertainment which is a movie theater experience for all of the senses. In addition to this, orgy-porgy is a sexual experience that is used as a religious ceremony (if you can call it that). This is a clear way to control individuals and society as a whole as it derives pleasure and associates it with their religious figure (Ford) and government ideals. In American society, pleasure and entertainment can control and can condition individuals. The government is not controlling us through entertainment or substances, but large companies are trying to use pleasure through entertainment or substances in order to derive more customers. If someone is deriving so much pleasure from something, they will continue to consume what is giving them that pleasure. In addition to this, drugs can control people. This is not pleasure alone, but people can derive pleasure from using these drugs and this can lead to addiction.
