These three stories bring us three different perspectives on the inequality and injustice within our human society. Though man developed with various physical resources, still as human beings we couldn't exceed our boundaries of ethnicity, caste, and such kind of unimportant divisions among us. These stories from USA, India & Tanzania reflect how the toxic thinking patterns of some people in society make stress, anxiety and discomfort, and unrest in marginalized groups of people. These documentaries strongly suggest the community come forward and do their efforts for the basic rights of those valuable human lives and not marginalize or disregard their human rights.

pasan.saranga@outlook.com

Humans and Racism

My emotions were stirred by the documentaries. Each of the three stories illustrates a distinct problem and/or inequality that needs to be addressed. As can be seen in the news, documentaries, and even day-to-day experiences, it has always been in humans' nature to conquer and seize power, and this trait has persisted from the middle ages right up until the present day. Even though racism has taken on new forms, it continues to prey on and cause harm to those who are more vulnerable. The unfortunate truth is that very few people care, and the vast majority of people are responsible for the problem. Citizens who are concerned continue to educate others, but very few people listen to them, and society as a whole becomes blind, deaf, and mute to the increasingly alarming situation. According to what I have observed, we are still living in a jungle where those who are the strongest and most powerful rule, and everyone is just waiting for the opportunity to devour one another. No one lives or dies for himself alone, nor does anyone only live for himself. We are a part of a society that is comprised of individuals whose ways of thinking, feeling, and even behaving are different from our own. They are entitled to our respect and acceptance due to the fact that, just like us, they possess rights and dignity as human beings in addition to being members of our society. We must learn to put others before ourselves, our needs, and our rights, and begin to care about them. We must have strong faith and unconditional love.
pk.canson2019@gmail.com

Reflection about the documentaries

First of all I would like to thank UNESCO-APCEIU for these three films. They are really great and helpful.

All three documentaries highlight the lack of respect for cultural diversity and the lack of respect for human rights. No one should be victimized because of their race, ethnicity, skin color or gender. This reflection aims to provide sustainable solutions that will contribute to a lasting peace that addresses the problem of racial discrimination, violence and conflict between ethnic, racial and marginalized groups.

Racial discrimination and prejudice always lead to political and social instability which worsens the situation, with increasing levels of violence and crime. The resolution of these problems always requires the mobilization of various resources, means and efforts. There is also a need for effective global citizenship education, conflict management, and peacebuilding strategies that can help stabilize these countries and promote development.

Research and Analysis: Conduct an in-depth analysis of the political, economic, and social factors that contribute to discrimination, conflict, and violence. This will include engaging with key stakeholders, including government officials, civil society groups and community leaders in most cases. We can see in the first film (Innocence) that men are victimized simply because they are black (skin color).

Capacity building: Provide training and capacity building support to key stakeholders, including government officials, civil society groups, and community leaders, in conflict prevention, resolution, and reconciliation. For example, in the story of the Indian couple, the mother said something that caught my attention. She said, "Why is this girl like that? Can one person really abolish caste? It has existed for generations. What can one person do? In my opinion, the mother doubts that the problem her daughter is trying to fight cannot be solved. This is where capacity building and awareness raising come in.

Dialogue and mediation: Facilitate dialogue and mediation between conflicting parties to resolve disputes peacefully and prevent conflict from escalating. Due to poor communication, the man in Innocence failed to die and is now at risk of not being able to have children while advocating for a change in the average system.

Infrastructure and Economic Development: Support the development of infrastructure and economic opportunities in conflict-affected areas to promote stability and peace. In Tanzanian society, Albinos, who are a minority, live in the most degrading environment. In addition, they face daily discrimination and stigmatization.

stanleyjrbernard@gmail.com

In fact it really touched my heart and changed the mood from the very early morning by the act of human over human. This really made me to to think that injustice, inhumanity, racial dissemination still exist in this twenty first century.

Now, the very pertinent questions we should ask ourselves is:
1. Where we are heading by the modern education?
2. What role education is providing to eradicate such stereotypes?
3. What is the difference between the animal and human being if ancient animalistic instinct is governing the act?

In fact I was really disturbed by the acts in these three films. It was never in my dream that such practices and believes that lead murder, oppression and violence.

I urge the educationist should play vital role to advocate the literates, stereotypes, debunk from the ancient believes that has no logic in the modern days.

I wish and pray that such acts will diminish and must land helping hand to those group of people or an individuals to embark successful fight against discrimination.
(kunzangchophel@education.gov.bt)
Bhutan

I always love the film screening because it gets me to learn and inform on various contexts around the world. Sometimes I see myself have been struggling with life while those have been suffering on injustice, discrimination and ignorance . Among three films, the forbidden love is the most hart breaking. I never imagine that case ever happen in the society . It can't be acceptable and quite complicated on the system of society. Those who are rich and holding power seem to be more relax while those who are poor and weak scare to live and ask for protection. Still on this earth , lots of people are still holding the narrow-minded that mind only a small part such as skin color. Maybe those still need to be educated with knowledge ,skills and attitudes on peace building, human right ,cultural diversity ,etc. Because when people get to learn and understand, they are able to change their behaviors and mindsets over those issues. seminea2016@gmail.com . gced youth alumni , gcedonlinecampus youth ambassador-Cambodia
