         <description><![CDATA[<div>A stone is a way in which the environment stores time.</div><div>These paper sculptures lean into the relationship between nature and the contrast between weight and knowledge.</div><div>Specifically looking at stones and how we often see them just as obstacles or as a commodity. We forget that they have been here thousands of years before us and will continue to be here long after we’re gone. they hold the knowledge of the world and yet they’re seen as passive objects.</div><div>Taking time over each piece and studying the forms of stones, layer upon layer, the labour of the work reflects not even a fraction of the geological process in which a stone goes through.</div><div>Quiet, calm and easily identifiable, they’re found all over the world and hold vastly different identi- ties to that of people. Carrying their own histories and narratives inside themselves.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>once detached the branch becomes a trace, an evidence of an event that caused it’s relocation. at the same time it forms an obstacle that whoever comes across it would have to engage with in order to pass it. the interaction can take shape in stepping past or moving the obstacle itself, which then again leaves a trace behind. </div><div><br></div><div>the work is exploring the concept of obstacles and traces by provoking interaction of the audience with the work. to make an engagement more likely the shapes themselves resemble branches to confront passers-by with something famliar, instead of an abstract shape. </div>]]></description>
