1st grade

In this video, I noticed that the teacher modeled and then practiced once by saying the word and breaking down the sounds in the word. Then she had the student to it independently. She used the Ipad to check off the sound as correct or wrong. The benchmark in this part was sounds within a word andphonemic awareness. This material will be helpful in my future classroom because it will help me see exactly where and if my students need further help with word sounds.

1st grade

The student read aloud until the teacher said stop and next the teacher was going to ask the student what he had read. The teacher used an iPad to track the student's errors and the words he corrected while reading for one minute. The student scored 464 for the composite score, so he was above in letter-sounds, decoding, word reading, and reading fluency he benched markedat 53 for letter names and was well below in Phonemic awareness. This material will be helpful in my future classroom because it will help me see exactly where my students are at with fluency in comprehending reading.

1st grade

The student will sound out and point to a made-up (nonsense)word and the teacher will track errors and correct sounds within a minute. This student bench marked on letter names and reading accuracy, was well below in phonetic awareness, and above in letter-sounds and decoding. This material will be helpful in my future classroom because it will help me see if the students understand the sounds within words and pronounce them correctly.

The textbook stated that DIBELS is a curriculum-based measurement to assess reading. There are 8 subtexts such as LNF,PSF,NWF,WRF,ORF. It would be beneficial in special education because it helpa identify areas where the students may need additional support.
