The Halla Bol team really pulled up their socks and focused on quality alongside managing their teamwork better. I was able to debrief the past few rounds with them, and it was exciting to see the steady shifts they've made.
I was able to work with 2 alumni on an initial discussion around how to build more neurodivergent friendly workplaces - I'm super stoked about this and hopes it flourishes! <3
We have 16 sign ups for the core team of Alumni Induction/Grad Ceremony (11 Fellows and 5 Student alumni)

For the Alumni Induction, the venue vendor we're seeking gave Seema the run-around. I navigated through it and reached a common ground by leveraging our existing relationship (I worked with him last year) and being very calm and diplomatic in the negotiations. That was cool :D

I acquired more insights about the Y1s than I've had in the whole year, in 1 week. I feel I am now able to identify who our culture promoters, passives and detractors may be in the cohort, and I hope this identification will help us to invest some of our star Y1s in the org as a whole.

Donor visit and PM hiring

a) I had an opportunity to engage with one of our donors early last week. I am just blown away by the depth of understanding Giri has about the work we do and his curiosity as he and his mother interacted with different stakeholders. I left this visit with a better understanding of investing people in the work we do. Grateful to Karan for this opportunity =)

b) This week we had technical interviews for PM hiring. I am able to lead this with a group of 4 PMs and close the records on the same day.

This does not belong to last week but is from 2 weeks ago. I was reviewing preworks for the TTF round, most of which were descriptive which then made it a bit more difficult to be scrutinized effectively while also taking into account softer constraints. I was also not doing well physically at that time. Turns out, Emma aligned with some of my analysis and decisions (was a good confidence boost) and working with her helped me understand how to filter through stories yet also make good judgements!

She is an amazing person to work with - the rubric she has designed beautifully helps us look out very objectively while also leaves enough room for creativity and qualitative sharing. I also learnt the skill of being able to express clearly what my gut was telling me (something I was not able to do in the past)

Managing time and well being

I'd say this is still an attempt. I've been making attempts at planning to spend my time more deliberately by taking my well being also into account. Health has not been in a good place recently so managing that is quite a challenge.

Microsite Analysis

Wrapped up the Microsite analysis. It had feedback analysis, google analytics analysis and research on knowledge hubs. It was my first time doing something which is not completely classroom, teacher training, curriculum or district metrics centric. I was a little apprehensive but I am grateful I pulled through

Some days the 'left at read but no response days' are draining(this is overall, not specific to hyd). Maybe it is too hopeful to expect that people would remember and respond later even if they are caught up for a period of time? I understand the mitigation measure is to do your bit and let go and more importantly plan for the extensive buffer. Weirdly, goals are met but the drain persists.

I excitedly signed up the AES to connect with the Alumni and get to know about their work but little did I imagine that it will take WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKSS to get response and still have no response with so many follow-up! This is challenging for me because I have always felt hesitant to reach out to new people I haven't engaged with before or have no connection as sorts, and now when I am multiple times with no response, it is actually very bleh :(

As we are working extensively and everyday thinking how to cater to ALL children with DIFFERENT needs, there is a lot to do here and it also comes with a lot of breakdowns. Many a times I have seen conversation go that it will not work out but this time, when we realistically planned each details together, it was really amazing to hear "Yes, it is possible!" I was happy that it was also helping the Fellow manage their energy in the class.
