NUR AMANI IZZATI BINTI ABDUL HARIF
Grammar is the most important thing to enhance our English. Basically, we as a student definitely have the struggle to master the grammar because we usually speak a broken English. However, by hook or by crook, we must demand ourselves to learn grammar because the main point of learning English is to be able to communicate and using the wrong grammar can lead to misunderstandings, so we need to get the words in the right order.

Me, myself as a student also have the same dilemma like others. At one point, i decided to improve myself and stop whining and complaining when other people talk proper grammar than me. I will share my methods on how i strengthen my English grammar precisely.

These methods require self-discipline, determination and strong will to accomplish your mission to master your grammar. Firstly, i will read some grammar books form various level. It does not matter whether the grammar book is for primary school or secondary school because knowledge comes from everywhere so do not assume you are too good to read a primary school grammar book level. I start from the basic till the end by reading it once to get a bigger picture. I always make times to make sure i read it over and over again to really understand on how to use the grammar in the right way. Usually i will spend like an hour to go through one of the topic every day to make sure i do not forget them. You will find it very boring and mostly students do not do this method anymore since it does sure makes you fall asleep for couple of times but it is my way anyway.

Secondly, i will make lots and lots of exercises. It is a very effective way to test my understanding after doing lots of reading. There will few mistakes on our first try but practice makes perfect right? Keep doing the exercise until you get the perfect marks or what is more important is until you really know how to apply the using of grammar in daily conversation.

Next, i will read English materials every single day. I will stress on how the grammar is applied in every sentences. I understand better the using of grammar by reading English materials and by doing so, i can really calm myself and really enjoy the moments. The most effective way to really have the perfect skills in every subject is to enjoy your learning instead of pressuring yourself and trust me, the knowledge you gained will not last forever. To make it more interesting, i will watch English movies usually British movies since most of the British movies use a proper grammar and proper English in their daily conversation.

Last but not least, the finale phase is i will use the proper grammar in my daily conversations with people around me. For sure, i was a little bit stuttering at first because i need the word to get in the right order but do not stop. Keep on talking using the proper grammar until you feel comfortable with your grammar usage. Every great things take times, but do not give up. You will gain much more benefits throughout the learning process until the rest of your life. The question is, you want it or not?

Strengthening my English Grammar, How I do it.

To put it simply, I basically learn by experience. For me, grammar was taught through out my family. How I polish it is that I usually learn and fix my grammar by communication. To explain it, I would take up work that is more towards customer service. By doing so, I could use that opportunity to expand my knowledge on my basic grammar in my speech between me and the customers that I serve. From this method, I could sense how bad grammar was as I started learning at that time and how hard it was to master so I decide to take it to the next step which is study. How I'd study? , I would read books and do exercises. It sounds plainly enough but it is the way that works the best for me as I was young. The types of books I usually read are that of the sci-fi and fantasy genre as they are my favorites. By reading these books that I so so love, I could compare my style of grammar and indulge myself to improve my grammar towards something better. The exercises that I did was mostly online, back then as I was in form 3 to form 4 books didn't play such a big role for me. So what I did was, I would bring my laptop to school and later on after school has finished my friends and I would meet up in the library, we would study together and teach other the things need for mastering our English needs such as grammar.
Those are some basic ways that I'd use as to learning grammar. Thoughts on this is that, grammar isn't something that anyone can master, the will to learn is needed to reach the very best of one's grammar. Like my saying goes " Dream it to belive it, work for it to achieve it"
-Aiman Arif Bin Mahazir (BIL1033 Group B)

In order to make progress, reading is essential to better our level of grammar. We should at least read once a day for 10 to 20 minutes. Next, we should know how and when to punctuate sentences properly. This is very crucial as it indicates starts, stops, pauses and relationships. We must listen and pay attention to how other speaker talk. Sometimes, parroting what other people say by repeating it in order helps you to understand better and improves ourselves on constructing sentences, also to expand our vocabulary. Last but not least, playing grammar games online are encouraged as they will provide explanations for wrong answers so that we would not make the same errors in the future.

- by Fitzgerald Anak Brase (BIL1033 Group B)

NUR KARTINI JASMIN BT MOHD ZULKIFLI MANISEGARAN

I wasn’t so fluent in speaking English back then. Well, everybody has to start from somewhere, right? When I was younger, I remembered myself as a child who didn’t really liked reading books. My ten-year-old self preferred to watch movies over reading numerous amount of words on a couple sheets of paper that people would call a “book”. So I spent many days and night watching movies, - most of them being American English ones, and other than enjoying the plot of the movie, I was able to pick up one or two benefits from watching it. My grammar improved drastically. Suddenly, English didn’t sound so difficult anymore and what was grammar to me? Just a piece of cake.

When I stepped a foot into secondary school however, I lost the time I’ve had to watch movies. I was probably going through one of those “puberty” phases because suddenly, I liked reading. I loved to read romance English novels, especially those thick books. Almost everyone in my class would be amazed over how quickly I could have completed a book, sometimes I could even read them in just a day.

Then came upper secondary. Time became even more sacred. My thick novels were long forgotten on my bookshelves, left behind to collect dust. I found a new interest, however. It’s called online reading, and many might as well know this as fan fiction. The process was easy, really. You go to a website, type a name of some idol you liked, click search and ta-da! Thousands upon thousands of fictional stories would appear, written by so many teens from around the world.

I read through a couple of stories, some which I cringed to because I couldn’t understood their grammar at all, while some I smiled my way through reading because their grammar was understandable and the story plot wasn’t as cliché as ever. At this point, I finally understood why my English teachers at school would press on grammar so much. It was really a hassle to read a story that wasn’t grammatically correct.

One day a random thought just went through my head: “Hey, why don’t I try writing a fictional story?” And that was what exactly I did. At first it was purely for fun, until people started to notice my works and interesting plotline. I don’t mean to boast, but would you believe it? One of my stories even got ten thousand views! That was just mad crazy.

So you would probably wonder how I turned out from a girl who didn’t know how to pronounce the word “thesaurus” properly to a girl who speaks English like it was her mother tongue. My point is, you have to start somewhere. No matter what it is and how you’re going to do it, it must start with small, but bold steps. Learning grammar isn’t a complicating process. If you see it in a positive way, it could even be fun, but I must remind you that it takes years to master such a thing. Even I, at a young age of eighteen still have a long way to go to fix and strengthen my grammar. But I started somewhere didn’t I? And that is, ladies and gentleman a few ways on how you could strengthen your English grammar.

English is a very complicated language to speak and I must say, without proper usage of grammar it would make being fluent in English much harder. But somehow I manage to overcome this problem by doing a few things such as watching cartoons. Obviously this little habit of mine started when I was a little girl. When you’re a five year old child, whatever you hear and lay your eyes on, it is necessary for you to follow it. For me it was English speaking toons on the television. It worked for me quite well as I would follow everything they say and I will get my pronunciation right no matter how long it took me. The more I watch these shows the more I catch their phrases and technically my sentence would be free from grammar errors.

Other than watching English cartoons, this is the part that gets really boring for the people who despise this particular method which is reading. For me, it is one of the most wonderful things in life. It is mind blowing how we can enter a fictional world so easily just by reading an entire book. Not only it gives you a peace of mind but it also enhances your knowledge in a way that it improves your grammar because as a reader, we are venturing into the works of professional author that is known for their skill in writing. This is one way to ace one’s grammar as we tend to mirror their style of writing and also speaking.

Also, exercises are an essential for people who never stop trying to improve their grammar. This is because grammar is not something you can be good at in a short amount of time. Constant practice is one of the ways to make grammar something you’re good at. As for an example, in bookstores they sell a variety of grammar exercise books. And I am not talking about the ones we usually use during our secondary school years. These books are mainly published for adults and their aspect of asking grammar questions are much different compared to SPM level. It is very challenging but hopefully at the end of the day by doing these exercises my grammar would polish up and it will reach a limit where there is no more space for improvement. These are the methods I apply to myself to strengthen my grammar!

NUR IDAYU AFIEZA BINTI ZAHARI

As we can see, grammar is the main point for us to master before we learn any language, not just for english language. There is no shortcut for learning grammatically correct english. It takes time to understand the rules of english grammar. But still, there's always a way to remember the grammar to help you speak correctly.

For me, I think ones should write something in english more or less everyday in order to improve our writing skills. It's okay if we can't write an essay a day, but just write a few lines about what you did or your opinion of something is rather than fine. At least we tried. After we finished our writing, make sure to get our writing checked so that we know our mistake and we can learn to correct them by heart. Otherwise it's easy to keep making the same mistakes. We can always ask for our english teacher or lecturer who will probably happy to help. We also need to study vocabulary to gradually make your language more sophisticated and keep reading more books — it doesn't matter what you are reading either from genre fiction to non fiction, just read every day in order to boost our exposure to the written word. Last but not least, speak in english, often. Try to develop a feeling for English. When we are speaking with someone we don't have time to go through all the rules in our head.

NURHUSNA NAJIHAH BINTI NORAIZI

Well my english grammar is not so good, but then it is a very important thing. So when there is a will, there is a way. I'll improve my english grammar through reading, listening, asking friends and teachers. There are always a methods that we can use to improve our grammar.
First for me, I would prefer to watch movies. Yes, english movie of course. I learnt from what they say. When i heard about something new, my head will starts to nod. So later you know, if i nods while watching movies, you know that i'm learning. I'll try too keep in mind everythings new. I'll try. Next, i would go with reading i guess. Reading is a must. For technologies era that most of us live with it right now, i am very sure that most of us would prefer
something auditory things. Of course, it is also one of the methods can be use. But we cant hundred percent sure if the information stick in mind for a very long time.
Unless you write it down on your notebook. So, I'll read it constantly or we can say i keep repeating it to make sure that i can speak fluently later. Please don't judge me. It is my way of learning. Everybody have
different style of learning, so this is mine. Other than that, i will also learn english grammar through music. I'll take the good one. If i'm not sure about something, i'll go ask someone who's better in english. Also, i'm a talkatve person, so i love asking. I'll keep asking someone about something i have doubt to. If my friends also don't have any idea about my question, my other option is to
go get my teacher or now i shall call my lecturer. Please dont get me wrong. Its not that teachers are my second choice, but it is easier for me to approach my friends because like now we live under the same roof so i can go ask them immediately. To all teachers in the world, don't worry, i love you. Because at the end of the time, i'll be needing you more than anything.

HOW I IMPROVE MY ENGLISH GRAMMAR

NAHZATUL FARAHIN BINTI ABDUL GHARAPAR

As everyone can tell, English is the most important language in the world. So, mastering the English language is basically an essential to fit in today’s society. In my opinion, in order to be a pro in English, we must first improve our grammar. Having an excellent grammar is like the foundation for us to speak proper and fluent English.

To be honest, I myself am not that good in grammar. I always make grammatical errors when I speak, or even when I’m writing an essay. So basically I do have my own ways to empower my grammar skills. First of all, I read various types of books. I know it sounds cliché but reading is the most effective way to improve our grammar. I always bring along a mini dictionary to look up vocabularies that I don’t comprehend every time I read a book. Then I’d jot it down in my notebook for future references.

I am a huge fan of One Direction. You know the biggest boy band in the world. Being a fan of a very popular international pop star also helps in improving my grammar. How? For instance I literally love every songs of One Direction and I have the desire to know the full lyrics of each song so that I can sing along whenever the song is played. Looking up for the lyrics of every song and actually take the effort to memorize it is definitely my way to polish my grammar. Plus One Direction writes their own songs and trust me, they are so good in writing. Most of their songs are poetic and meaningful so me being the weirdo who studies the lyrics of their songs actually benefits a lot.

Last but not least, I learn to improvise my grammar through watching English movies and reality shows. I love to challenge myself to watch the movies without having any subtitles. This way I can actually focus on what the actors are talking about and try to understand it. Reality shows on the other hand helps me to know more about how the westerns talk in their daily life because it is obviously unscripted.

So basically that is how I improve my English grammar. My advice is you don’t need to be stress or feel down if you’re weak in your grammar because there is literally many, many ways to improve it. The most important thing is never give up.

Ways to Strengthen my English Grammar

NURHAFIEZA BINTI JAFRI

Did you ever went to the English class but started to get bored in learning grammar stuff again and again? Yes, we need to admit that sometimes we get so bored over some typical things to learn over and over again. But, why can't we still mastering it? We still did the same mistakes over and over again. As to speak for myself, I am not so good in grammar as well. I did made some mistakes here and there too. Either its from talking or even writing. But it won't stopping me from stop learning and strengthen it. Here are some of the views that I would like to share on ways to strengthen my English grammar.

"The more you read, the more you know. The more you know, the smarter you grow." This are some of the quote referring from Dr. Seuss,an american writer and illustrator best known for authoring popular children's books. We can obviously highlighted the point of the quote encouraging us to read more and more to be smart in any specific or particular things. As for me,I read books to strengthen my English grammar. Reading books doesn't mean its always about reading references book about grammar or magazine about pronouns,or even reading a long lists of tenses. We can also learn grammar by some love's story novels, horror comics, celebrities magazine and so on.Undoubtedly, any of the books published will mostly covers some good grammar, punctual tenses and even more. Through reading, we will get much more knowledge about grammar.
To be honest, I learned some of the usage of prepositions from the book written by John Green entitled Paper Town. It really helps me a lot since the book were mainly because of a map and a missing girl. Those theme need to use a lot of prepositions. So, why wait now? Grab some books after reading this text and strengthen your grammar by it!

Ever heard an idioms saying that "Practice makes perfect" ? I use this idioms as an inspiration to start strengthening my grammar. In school, teachers will always provided us with exercises, quiz and more. I took the advantage over all of those exercises to strengthen my English grammar. Learn by it even when it was repeated more than 100 times. Who might knew those exercises that we think as a burden might help us one day. Every things came with benefit and maybe all those exercises came to me for benefit in future like right now.

Last but not least, one of the ways I used to strengthen my English grammar is by being curious over it. Sounds weird, right? But i always had that one feeling when people been talking fluently with no grammatical errors, I listen to them closely and learn on how they did it or even when I read jokes about grammar on Tumblr, i learned from it. It's not that wholly bad to learn grammar by being curious over it. If you don't know or not sure about something, just ask. Nobody are going to be mad for asking about one's grammar right? Be curious and learn more. Sometimes,I also think that if we're not using grammar correctly, we aren't that cute as we think we are. Remember that, good grammar will boost your self-esteem. So,stay cute and use grammar correctly.

These are some of the ways I used to strengthen my English grammar. Hope it will helps you guys in the future. A bit peek of advice from me, never stop learning about anything which will bring benefit to you even when its only as tiny a germ, who might knew that we can use it later in future, right?

The word "grammar" can simply send a shiver down someone's spine especially to those who don't practice English as their second language or just simply hate English. People rarely take grammar as a serious matter but it is because if you communicate in English and use the wrong grammar, it can lead to misunderstanding. For example, "John will go to the new restaurant and ate pasta for dinner" the word "will go" is a future tense verb and "ate" is a past tense verb.Since the dinner is going to happen in the future, it is not possible that he ate the pasta already. There are many ways one can improves their grammar. The easiest way is to ask your English teacher to guide you all the time. You also need to read A LOT. Reading is one the most crucial part in learning English and I can guarantee you by reading a lot you can already master the art of grammar. Try to write a lot because hey, practice makes perfect! After writing, submit it to your teacher so she or he can point out your mistakes and only by that, you can learn. For those who hate reading or writing, you can always practice your grammar by watching English movies or listen to English songs because they would rarely use broken English since they are an English speaker themselves. Grammar isn't as hard or as scary as some people think. Just a little practice or put some effort into it, then you'll be a perfect English speaker in no time. The art of grammar isn't hard to master.

Grammar is one of the most important thing in any language. It symbolizes the identity of the language. Correct grammar in English is also an important thing more or less. There are several effective ways that I used to strengthen my grammar over the years. The easiest way is I listened to tons of English songs since I like them very much. Through the songs, I can improve my grammar and at the same time I also can learn new words. Besides, I read books a lot. For me, it's easier to learn and improve one's grammar by reading novels than other books like encyclopedias because novels have interesting storyline which made it fun for someone who wants to strengthen their grammar. Finally, I used the writing method to improve my grammar. I would write a paragraph and get it checked by someone who experts in English. If there are errors, I will do it again and again until I get everything right because practice makes perfect. Lastly, there are many ways to improve our grammar and every person have their own way to do that.

Grammar is a complex thing. It has a rule of its own. So many verbs, articles, past, present, future tense that you need to use correctly. English is not my mother's tongue but it does not make me any less interested in learning english. Practice makes perfect so practice, I will. That's the only way to improve my grammar.

Other than that, I read a lot of books to help in expanding my vocabulary and perfecting my grammar. I admit I always make mistakes when I use to communicate with my friends or my family members .

Don't be afraid to make mistakes because "No One Is Perfect" . We must be confident with ourself . People can only correct our mistakes once they hear we make them . Moreover , we must practise everyday to make our confident level increase . Instead of that , we can ensure that our English is much better then before . We must have our own study plan so that we can decide how much time a week we are going to spend on studing and stick to it .

I usually ask my mother if I did any mistakes in my essay or anything . To me , my mother is like a google and a dictionary . Anything that I need to know I will just refer to her . My mother is the best place to ask 😁 She understand me very well and she will buy some books for me to ensure that I will improve my English language .

Furthermore , I also read newspaper to improve my English in writing and speaking . If I don't undestand any single words I will refer to a dictionary or I will ask people surround me . Instead of that I will also read some online movies or drama .

It's amazing how people these days are trying so hard to speak English. I guess most of them realise how important English is. Like me, I was trained since I was young. My mother would stressed me on English. To be truthful, I hated English in the first place but look where I am right now.My mom would buy me a lot of storybooks for me to read and I will usually read in front of her.As time passes by, I fell in love English and I find that English is the most easiest subject compared to other subjects. Till now, I am still learning and trying to improve my English through reading. It is my favourite pastime and right now I am currently reading 'Whitney,My Love' by Judith Mcnaught.Plus, I have a 'second mother' who would encourage me reading and talk in English. She was the best teacher I had ever had since she was very nice and kind towards me. She,too will buy me a lot of storybooks.

Next, I have my grandfather who is an English teacher/lecturer. Let me tell you something, he is really strict when it comes to English. Everytime if one of his grandchildren spoke wrongly, he would literally scream at them for not saying it correctly.Lucky me, he never screamed at me.Aside from that, he was really good at speaking as well as teaching. He would help us if we have any problems when it comes to English. I would always ask his help and he gladly help me with it.It was worth it though because without his help, I wouldn't be here. You should never be shy or embarassed to ask someone who is better that you in anything.

Besides reading, my favourite hobby is listening to music and watching movies. As I'm writing this, I am listening to a song. I would say that listening to music can help you with your English. Listen to each lyrics carefully and you'll get what the person is trying to say. Last but not least, watching movies did help me in improving my English. My all time favourite movies are for example 'Pride And Prejudice', 'Count of Monte Cristo', 'Nicholas Nickleby' and many more.Through these, I learnt how to speak correctly and learn new words. It's quite exciting and fun though. You get to learn new words.I guess each people have different way of improving their English and these are my ways.

- 12 years learning the same thing all over again since we were six years old, and I still makes mistakes, whether it is when I am writing an essay or having conversations with my friends. In order to strengthen my English grammar, I follow these methods. First, I read more English books and i try to increase the number I read each year. I make sure my choice of books have interesting and more thrilling elements, such as books full of games and riddles. This is my way to avoid boredoms that could make me stop reading the book by the end of the day. My favourite book would be 'The Riddles Of Epsilon' by Christine Morton Shaw. I had never been so captivated by some books before until I read this book. It Is an interesting book packed with adventures and tricks. It literally helped me to strengthen my English grammar every turning page. Next, watching movies of an adaptation of a bestselling novel, such as Harry Potter by J.k.Rowling. Since it is originally a book so the grammar should be guaranteed right, unlike any other movies that is just for entertainment purposes only and not for educating children. Selecting the right movies or any television programmes are paramount important. I also love watching educational programmes on television, for instance, 'Oh My English'. This programme had been really helpful in improving my English Grammar because they pointed out any mistakes made by the students and corrected them by the end of the show for each episode. Lastly, I strengthen my English Grammar by practising having conversation in English. by doing so, my friend can point out my mistakes as I will do the same thing. The more we practise the more room of improvement can be made.

The importance of English grammar is overlooked by most people. Especially when English is not one's first language. Even in examinations, teachers tend to overlook grammar errors in their students' essays as they cave in to guilt; knowing their first language is not English. There's no doubt that English grammar is not handed to us when we were born so we need to take action into improving it ourselves. In this essay, i will tell you my own ways of how I strengthen my English grammar.

In my past, I was introduced to the English language before my mother tongue, which is Malay. All my life, I have always been sixty times more confident in English than Malay. Because of this, I practice my English everyday whether it be with my friends, siblings, parents or grandparents. With that, my grammar improves bit by bit as the years progresses on. Speaking English on a daily basis does not mean that i only speak English. Grammar can still be practiced even when we speak a mix of English and Malay. Practicing this will definitely help as people around us can point out our mistakes and we will be able to tell when something we have said doesn't sound right in terms of grammar.

Another way that I often use to improve on my grammar is by reading novels. It doesn't need to be a specific genre but I tend to go for novels that I can more or less relate to or highly recommended books as I try to find inspiration as well as improve on my grammar. This way, I kill two birds with one stone. Also, I make sure that I read the blurb of the book before diving into it so that I get the gist of what the story-line will be about. I do this because I tend to lose focus and eventually lose interest in a book if the story-line is not to my liking. I find that reading novels is a very effective way of strengthening my grammar as we focus on every word that we read and it tends to stick in our minds.

Lastly, I improve on my grammar by watching western movies and TV series. I like to watch genres like comedy, mysteries and crime solving. We need to make sure that we have interest and that we understand what we watch. We can't force ourselves into watching a show we barely understand purely for learning. This will make us lose interest and start absentmindedly watching the show and it concludes to not learning anything new.

Overall, the English grammar can easily be improved with such simple practices. All there is needed to it is effort. In the future, I hope more people understand the difference between "your" and "you're", "this" and "these" and etcetra.

By Wafaa Izzlin

As we all already know, grammar is one of the main component in English. Bad grammars will flunk your work but don’t fret for there is always a room for improvement. Based on what I did to strengthen my grammar, I read and I asked my friends about the grammar structure of a sentence. I also read a lot of materials like articles, magazines and novels. Back when I was in high school, my English teacher would encourage us to read articles regarding worldwide issues. It indirectly helped us in strengthening our grammar besides enabling us to know more about the world and widening our vocabulary.

As I've mentioned, I also read novels but before I start reading novels, I used to read short stories with lame, cliché plots and poor grammar. As I grow up, I became pickier in choosing the materials I read as I was able to detect the grammatical error and differentiate between stories with nice plots and bad plots. Ever since I start reading and choosing my reading materials carefully, I was able to score high marks in English and that was an achievement for someone who didn't know the difference between your and you're.

Nowadays, there are a lot of platforms that can be used to learn things. For example, social media. Most of the time I would read what people are tweeting and from there I was able to detect mistakes and I would refer to my books and my friends about it. I also ‘follow’ some of educational account like Englishjer or Grammar YUNiversity. I find the methods they’re using to be fun and interesting. They made things simpler as grammar could get very confusing at times. For example, the word ‘past’ can be used as an adjective, a noun or a preposition or even as an adverb and Grammar YUNiversity definitely made learning more effortless, don't they?

As a conclusion, grammar is not something that is easy but it really is not so hard to understand. I guess it all depends on one's will to learn and trying to understand the complex. My advice is to find a suitable method in learning grammar. Make it fun and pleasurable so that you won't feel stressful and too obliged to learn the arts of grammar.

I spend most of my free time reading books and any other reading materials. From classic literatures to science-fiction and etc. When reading, I usually try to study on how authors use their language, spellings, word order, how their sentences were structured and the creative variation that they used. Normally, when I read a book, I will always have a dictionary by my side in case I'm having trouble understanding some of the words and get some clearing from it. I will write the words and their definitions on the top of the page of the book and rewrite them in my journal.

Music also helps me to strengthen my grammar. I listen to music a lot especially when I was reading or doing my work. I really love listening to classical and folks songs since they contained a lot of grammatically beautiful words. It helps me to learn some of the classic words which we rarely use nowadays. I learn a lot through music because I like to analyse the lyrics and sing along to it. By doing that, I can learn on how to pronounce most of the words properly.

Besides, I do some practices on writing every day. When I learn new words, I will jot them down in my journal and try to use them in my daily life. I also write poetries and short stories in my journal to improve my grammar skills or even just email back and forth with my friends and family.

By Norain Fatihah binti Jamaludin

As we all know, mastering grammar is one of the most crucial building blocks when it comes to learning a new language. The same thing applies to English. The English language has always been very fascinating to me ever since at a very young age due to its versatility. It is one of the very few fields that I am actually keen in. After realizing my potential to excel in the language sector, I tried many different initiatives to enhance and polish my grammar skills outside of the class for the betterment of my English proficiency.

During the early stages of learning, I equipped myself with basic grammar knowledge, which includes mastering punctuations, verb conjugation, adverbs and many more. I realized that it is vital for me to fortify my grammar at a very young age to assist my English-learning process in the near future, hopefully, without any bumps in the road. I have also taken the initiative to read children books as they emphasize more on the correct use of grammar, thus, making sure that I stick to the right path.

One of the other measures that I’ve taken to improve my Grammar is by reading at least one page of any English newspaper a day. This does not only help me improve my English fluency, it also serves as a platform for me to be cognizant of the current issues today. I also take the initiative to go on social media on a daily basis to check on the articles that are posted by authorized news source to further improve the state of my grammar by analyzing the way the articles were written in terms of a few aspects which includes grammar, vocabulary usage and many more.

Another common way of improving one’s grammar that I find really useful is by reading books. Take the Harry Potter book series as a prime example. It is a huge franchise with multi-million fanbase. The reason why the book series are so popular is understandable. The quality of the storyline itself is magnificent. This is essential to keep the readers entertained rather than serving them a mundane, predictable storyline. I also enjoy reading poetries. One of my personal favorites is Almosts by Bianca Phipps. Reading poems does not necessarily help me with my grammar. It serves as a stepping stone for me to expand and widen my range of vocabulary.

By Aina Basyira Binti Mohd Radzi

Our English will not be perfect without the use of grammar. Just like cooking, your dishes will not tastes good without the right ingredient. So does English. without grammar, our English will not be as perfect as it may be.
Now how do I improvise my grammar is by reading. This might sound cliche but it really does help. My teacher once said "If you want your English to be perfect, read more! Treat the books like you treat your bestfriends" so I did as she told and yes, it really works! Of course I need the help of dictionary for me to learn and understand words which are not familiar to me.
Next would be the help of English songs and English movies. When we listen to songs and we like it, we will have that boosting tendency to know each words which are being sang for us to sing along out loud. For English movies, usually I will not watch it with subtitles. My favourite sequels are Harry Potter. The reason why is because they speak in British accent which is hard to understand for some of us. I took the challenge to watch the movies without any help of subtitles. So instead of just learning grammar, I learn the pronounciation and new words as well! I do the same for the other movies as well despite their various accent.
Last but not least, I practise writing and speaking. You always hear the phrase "practice makes perfect" and it's the truth. Though I'm not that good in speaking Eglish fluently, but I'll work harder to polish my skills and master it.

My Methods in Better Strengthening My English Grammar and Understanding

By Muhammad Aliff Aufa Bin Saimi

As a person who are capable of understanding and speaking English in the mildest way possible, a lot of people asked me how does one manage to master English. Well, for one, one does not simply master English. English is a very sophisticated language due to it's wide field of understanding--not just a secondary language crucial for your academics and future. It is a way of life, a way to connect and a way to explore. It is so simple, that it is hard to explain. But, one thing to always remember in your efforts to better your English speaking capability, is to better THE GRAMMARS

Grammars are essential in trying to improve one's English. It is diversely wide in variations of ways in speaking, spelling and understanding. without grammar, your sentences would be a mess. That is why I am here today to show you my own methods in improving my grammar.

When asked, people would expect some boring answers like "always go through English-based medias" or "always watch English tutoring TV channels". But no. I am here to share with you, what possibly to you to be the fun way of learning English.

One of my UTMOST FAVORITE methods are; By watching English movies. Yes that doesn't sound all that exciting considering we've been watching English films since we're toddlers. Indeed, but have you considered UNDERSTANDING the movie? Trying to LISTEN to the story? Or better yet to SPELL out the plot? In movies, the stories and plot advanced by the lines and script of the movie, and within these lies grammar. To understand the story, you'd have to understand the grammar, or else the story wouldn't make sense; like the difference between "your" and "you're", or "lose" and "loose". Without grammar the story would be horrendously weird. Thus it is essential to understand the grammars, in order to understand the movie. And to do this, there are stages. Stage one; You first watch the movie WITH the subtitles, preferably in English, and none fan-made ones. When you heard a word in between the lines by the characters in a certain scene that you can't seem to get, write it down by referring to the sub. And then throughout the movie when you've heard a similar word but in a whole different situation, you write down also by referring to the sub. Then you can compare the two words you've written by referring the dictionary, and try to understand the two different situations of the movie from where you found those two similarly identical words, but different meanings.

Another way of better improving your grammar is by reading, and that doesn't just limit to medias such as newspaper articles or encyclopedias, but EVERY reading materials you could think of. But to me, I'd prefer the ones that contains a STORY, such as comics or light novels. Like I said before, I'm here to teach you ways to learn English the FUN way. In most story-filled reading materials, there are, of course the plot and the actual story, and not to mention a bunch of grammars. Just like the first method, it is crucial to understand the grammar in order to understand the story. But it is also important to remember that reading books are different than watching movies. You don't have the scenes to help you understand the plot, but at the same time you can understand the plot by reading the words at your own pace, rather than relying on voices of actors that are too fast for you to keep up. in comics, the situations and predicaments are better shown in forms of illustrated expressions, movements and boxes of narrations with (almost)entirely correct sets of grammars. These exists to better help the reader to understand the plot of the story, at the same time entertain and educate them in forms of illustrated character expressions and elements of "automatic" story-telling. Other than comics, normal and short novels can also help one to further evolve their understanding in English grammars. but unlike comics, novels don't have pictures and illustrated images explaining the given situation, except a few which is only one whole page for every 10-20 pages or so. That is why the authors/writers/narrators would often underline and bold down certain sentences, words and phrases to help the readers understand the story/line by stressing a certain word. Stories can be understood by stressing certain words in a sentence and for every words stressed will give different meanings. For example, the sentence "I never said he stole my purse" can have 7 different meanings depending on which word is stressed. For example:
"I never said he stole my purse" - the person implying that she wasn't the one who said the phrase.
"I never said he stole my purse" - the person implying the she had never said such phrase.
"I never said he stole my purse" - the person implying that she never said that he stole her purse.
As a reader, one can better improve one's grammar by understanding this concept and apply it to daily basis, and further evolving one's way of understanding the different theories of grammars and vocabularies of the English Language.

In this world, it is estimated about 6.5 billion people can speak, hear, and understand the English Language. But, for some minor reasons, the conversation between two people can get hard and misunderstand. How can this happen? Well, GRAMMAR. Yes, we all know that word. But do we know how to use it? Many people can speak in English, but only a few can say it without any grammar errors. So, to stop this problem from happening in the future generation, let us see the ways and directions on how to improve and strengthen our grammar, for the sake of our language and humanity.

There are a lot of ways that I can practice in my daily lives. For example, going through grammar blogs and download Grammar games. With today’s up-to-date websites and mobile phone games, we can search for blogs and apps that may offer some grammar and English activities, virtual games, and etc. This may help the youngsters today, who are living and studying in a technology era, and I'm one of them, to excel in our English Grammar.

Besides that, try to speak and write English more often. When we speak or write in front of other people, some of them will correct your grammar. Do not get stress, just accept it as a challenge, a challenge where you have to improve your grammar. This way, it will help and boost our grammar skills. “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it”, George Santayana.

Before ending, I would like to say that, my grammar is also not in a good term. I also need to learn and brush up my grammar skills. Because when we use the wrong term, for instance you’re and your, we can make a big difference. And here’s a little joke.

From the source of Wikipedia, in linguistics, grammar is the set of structural rules governing the composition of clauses, phrases, and words in any given natural language. This fields includes morphology, syntax and phonology often complemented by phonetics, semantics and pragmatics.
There are a lot of ways to improve our grammar and everyone had their own ways on how they tried to strengthen their grammar so do I.I am not too good in English. When I was in a primary school, I always fail in my English subjects but i took it as a challenge and a motivation for me to get up and not to give up. My first ways to strengthen my grammar is I will use any grammar books to read about the english grammar and I will do a test to make sure that I am already experts on it. I will practise it again and again until I feel satisfied as it is more better than i am leaving a blank sheet of paper on my examination day.
Beside that, the best way to improve your english grammar are not only by reading and writing but you can also strengthen your grammar by listening and speaking with others people.Do not shy even you know your English is not as good as them.Everybody learns from mistake.I always try to improve my grammar by speaking English with my parents, siblings and my grandfather. They help me a lot and they tried to support me and they always make me feel that I am better than what I have been thinking all this time.
I improved my English grammar also by listening to english songs and i keep watching youtube. I tried to listen on how they pronounce the words clearly and I try to pronounce it just the way they did.We are now living in a technology world and everything is just at the top of your finger so it is easier for us to gain the information and so on.You can also do online exercise to improve your grammar. Keep doing the exercise and take a look on how you did and go back in a few weeks and see how great you have improved in your English grammar.
Lastly, as a students in a school or in a university , we really need this 4 core skills to strengthen our English grammar. We need to be expert on reading skills, listening skills, writing skills and speaking skills. My teachers has saying this to me once "it's better not to study just to satisfied yourself but you better get study just satisfied all the person that you loved and make a bright future of yourself" . Although I watched a lot of English cartoons, I was not passionate about the English language.

by Precila Fona Lo Nyuk Fun

Ten years ago, I was just a little girl who likes Barbie and princessy things. And then one day, my mother and aunts told me that I should be a stewardess. “The salary can be considered high (at that time), and you can even dress pretty with makeups on while flying across the country everyday for free,” they said. My life changed on that day, as I live my every day with a ground zero – to learn English like my future depends on it.

That is my first way, to have ardent zeal in English. You can't force yourself to learn something at your best if you don't learn to like it first. And when you like something, want something, need something, and you know that it is inevitable for you to have it, you understand that it is inevitable for you to work hard for it. Subconsciously, I began to put more efforts on English classes at school. It was not really a problem since English is cool, mysterious, challenging, and super classy to me. I took part in most of the English-based competitions at school and won them. I also tried to relate English in my daily life, enjoyed watching English movies and shows with the help of subtitles. As I aged more and I think I am ready to understand by listening rather than reading, I stopped using subtitles anymore. That way, my brain and ear would work together and get used to the good grammars.

I am halfway to be an anime maniac and I take a good use of it. I pay extra attention during reading the English subtitles and try to spot their grammatical errors, while enjoying the story itself. But of course, you have to have good knowledge of English grammar to know what is right and vice versa. My grammar wasn't good now and then, so I frequently asked my favourite English teacher from secondary school about grammar. Never be ashamed to ask, even though you might look like a fool for not knowing the simplest thing.

As many of my coursemates have mentioned, listening to English songs has been very helpful to enhancing their grammars. We are all on the same boat, as I did find it really helpful to remember how the sentences should go as I try to recall the song lyric. In addition, it is a bonus that you can polish your pronunciations by trying to sing the song lyrics as close to the right way as possible. :-D

Moreover, it helps to strengthen grammars by reading books, in my case, the easiest book to have access to - the Holy Bible. Try to read something enjoyable, so that it won't take too much efforts to get used to the right grammar. Kill two birds with one stone, and if possible pick the scrumptious one!

Many of my friends know English, but none of them speak English. They would speak either 'chinglish', or 'manglish', which are the easy way to say Chinese and Malay kind of English. My advice here, you never go with the flow. I will usually try to use proper grammar even when chatting with a bunch of chinglish speaker group, although it is quite hard to not to be affected by them. But we shan't expect anything to be as easy as it should be, as good stuff doesn't come free.

I never really have a virtual conversation in English until these few days, and definitely, I commit grammatical errors. So whenever I realize the errors, I will try to repeat and correct it. I am not good, and I am here to learn. Whatever it is that is coming, I know I will be prepared as we have best lecturers here. So lastly, you will be needing confidence in order to strengthen your grammar. Have faith that if you work at it with all your heart, your efforts will not be in vain!
😊

by Magdelena Long Mering
English language is a globally used language to socialize and to communicate with people. However, not many can communicate using good grammars. My ways on strengthening my grammar are being aware of good grammar. By being aware of good grammar, the poor usage of grammar will become obvious. I could easily recognize the errors in speeches and other sort of communicative ways. Next would be learning the fundamentals such as to know the separate parts in a sentences from parts of a speech, for example the subject and the predicate. Hence, it is easier to correct the grammatical errors that arises.

The easiest way to strengthen my English grammar is by reading. I read more to widen my view about English grammar. It gives more exposure of the correct usage of grammar. The more I see, learn and experience and eventually I will understand the correct usage of grammar. Furthermore, I would discover what troubles me. I realize that I have repeated the same grammatical errors for countless times. After knowing the errors I have made, I will try to seek advise from English tutors that might help me and I would search online for tips that may prevent me from repeating the same mistake again. Lastly, I would practice English grammar whenever and wherever I can. I would take all the chances I could to practice and improve my grammar throughout my whole life.

By Nur Diyana An-nisa' Binti Bahurdin

For me, the main point of learning a language is to be able to communicate and using the right grammar to avoid misunderstandings. Using the right grammar is the most important part in learning English. As a student myself, I used to get confused with grammar especially the tenses. But I took it as a challenge and motivate myself to improve my grammar. One of the best ways to improve my English is by listening to English songs. There is scientific evidence that demonstrates how non-English speakers can improve their grammar skills, vocabulary and spelling by listening to English songs. So I used this way to strengthen my English grammar.

Secondly, I challenged myself to watch English movies or videos without the help of subtitle. It was quite hard for me at first, but then, slowly I managed to understand.

Next, reading English novels was really helping me a lot. For me, reading novels offer a lively and entertaining method for strengthening my English grammar.

Lastly, I practised on my own. I took some grammar tests on internet. There are online sources that use “spot the error” strategies and “choose the right answer” that make it easier for me to learn and practise.

As a person who is still learning English, sometimes I will make mistakes unknowingly. By these methods, it is such the best way for me to improve and strengthen my English grammar days by days. And I hope it will help those who want to learn and improve their English skills too.

Ways to strengthen my grammar

By Mohamad Alif Haziq bin Mohamad Ali

Grammar is the system that structures a language, and every language has its own guidelines. But grammar isn't so much about rules as it is the conventions that determine how we speak and write, and it includes things that like spelling, inflecting words for different purposes, and the way words are arranged to form sentences. While its good to remember that languagrs are living things that constantly change, it is also important to know that proper grammar is still necessary for communication. Luckily, there are plenty of resources available to help people who want to improve their grammar.

Firstly, is to know parts of speech. These are the types of words that make up the language, and they are nouns, adjectives, pronouns, verbs, adverbs, prepositions, and conjunctions. To put sentences together properly, you must understand what the parts of speech are and how they function in sentences.

Secondly,is to read children’s books. While children’s books may not be grammar textbooks, they are designed to teach the basics of language, including fundamental words and spelling, regular and irregular nouns and verbs, simple conjugation, and sentence structure. Children aren't often explicitly taught the grammar and mechanics of their native tongues, but instead pick them up by reading and listening to other native speakers.

Finally, avoid common mistakes. Always learn the difference between confusing words. English has a lot of words that look, sound, and/or are spelled the same, even if they have very different meanings. These homographs (words that are spelled the same), homophones (words that are pronounced the same), heteronyms (words that are spelled the same but pronounced differently), and homonyms (words that are spelled and pronounced the same) cause a great deal of confusion, and result in common errors. Remembering these common errors will help you avoid frequently made mistakes.

By Mohamad Nur Eiman bin Mustaffa

Communicating in English have become a routine in my family since my mother is an English teacher . She taught us many things about English such as grammar , communication skills , and vocabulary . Because of her , I would verbally throw my words in English in conversations among my peers . When i step onto the secondary school , the English grammar level has upgraded . I have to make my own initiative to learn the next level of grammar . So the first step that I made is by doing a lot of reading . From that i can detect grammatical errors and mistakes . I list the mistakes and find the correct grammar . This really helps me a lot in grammar . Next , I do a lot of exercises on grammar . At first , it was quite hard but finally I get used of it . Here i got some tips when you are doing grammar exercises . Do not give up on your first try ! It may be quite hard but well practice makes perfect right ? So keep on it . Furthermore , I had also frequently asked my teachers to held extra English classes . From there i am able to learn and improve my English grammar to a whole new level . I also can share all my problems in English grammar with them . I felt really great because i was being surrounded by great teachers and they have been really nice . Last but not least , English movies had also become one of the contributors in improving my English grammar .

Ways To Strengthen My Grammar, From My Experience.

By MOHAMMAD HAFIES BIN SUHAIMY

English have been introduce to me from my early childhood, my father loves watching English movies. So usually I watch them with my father even if I have no idea what I'm watching at that time. And I started to take interest in the language when I was in Primary 3. My teacher at that time is very helpful with improving my English even if it was very broken. After a while he started to suggest ways to improve my English in vocabulary, my pronunciation and especially my grammar. So here is a few ways to improve your grammar in my personal experience.

For me, the easiest ways to improve your grammar is to read any literature. It can be any kind of literature like novels, storybooks, newspapers, magazine, etc, etc. This will help with your grammar by seeing the pattern of how the words stack up with one another. And by reading it you will subconsciously improve your grammar because your mind can already rearrange the words you read or write to the correct grammar sequence.

The other ways to improve your grammar is to listen to people speaking in English. This mostly involves listening to music, speeches, news, movies, etc, etc. And when you listen, try to repeat what they speak. This will not only improve your grammar, but it will also improve your pronunciation. So its a two in one deal, very effective to auditory people who want to improve their English.

The last way to improve your English is to apply it to your daily lives. Try to speak English to a person who is very good in English like your teacher so that they can fixed any mistakes in our English language learning.

As your can see in my short essay, my ways of learning English is mostly by trial and error. This is because I like to try to improve my English language on my own rather then doing so in school. Its not like I'm trying to say I didn't pay attention at school, I usually try to test how good my English is at school and improving it by listening to my teachers teachings then improving what I learned at school at home. What I'm trying to say is that we have to keep trying to improve our mistakes, because those mistakes are proof that we are improving ourselves to be better.

It is the structure that ensures language is understood.Poor use of grammar can deter a reader from understanding, following, or accepting information or opinion.
The question is how did i improved my grammar usage even though English is not my mother tongue?
As I grow older,I tend to be surrounded by native English speakers due to my mom's profession as an English teacher. My mom is a strict English teacher so,whenever i made mistakes in grammar, she will always correct me because for her grammar is important because grammar is the basic of English.I also grew up by watching various English entertainment programs. From there I learnt how to improve my grammar especially in pronunciation. My mom had set a rule which my siblings and I have to complete at least 3 essays a day in order to improve our grammar and writing skills.Once i was 7 years old my mom told me go make yourself some friends to improve your communicating skills so that when you enter school's life you wont be awkward to communicate with school's community. When i was in high school I was selected to represent my school in drama competition. From there, I gained a lot of experience on how to improve my English especially in pronunciation and grammar. I also tend listening to English songs because i can learn many new verbs.
