The right to bare arms means that you can carry a gun with a licence if you are 21 and over. and to use the gun for safety measures or for sport. the saying is you should not fear the gun it self but respect. many times this rule gets violated and totally misunderstood that is why millions die a year due to the people who shot the gun. there are curtain safety classes and thing to help you shoot and know when to shoot it properly.
-Jerusalem Ladd-

in the past 10 years there have been many school and church shootings which have made people question whether the gun laws should be changed. like sandy hook when all of those innocent kids got shoot due to someone's high anger issues. this was a sad and tragic event that occurred. The man who shoot the kids killed himself, That is common because often people who do those horrible things feel guilty and can't handle it. Stuff like that happens all over the world, some are reported on the news and some are not.
-Jerusalem Ladd-

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." In so many words being able to carry your gun is a human right. On one hand, some believe that the Amendment's phrase "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms" creates an individual constitutional right for citizens of the United States. Under this "individual right theory," the United States Constitution restricts legislative bodies from prohibiting firearm possession, or at the very least, the Amendment renders prohibitory and restrictive regulation presumptively unconstitutional. On the other hand, some scholars point to the prefatory language "a well regulated Militia" to argue that the Framers intended only to restrict Congress from legislating away a state's right to self-defense.

This is a example of police ignoring the fact that back people has the right to bare arms also. ~James Powers II~

Our Second Amendment right, while important, should not be taken advantage of because guns can cause serious harm to others.” The gun industry and its supporters have turned that simple statement into a clever marketing tool, and Americans are paying the price in blood.Regulation is necessary to prevent self-injury, accidents and the violent population from using guns to hurt others. Should groups opt to protest that regulation, there are ways to do so without terrifying those who prefer not to openly carry firearms. Gun-rights activists should start a dialogue with other citizens and explain their rights, perhaps while carrying a simpler handgun — not a rifle.

These drastic open-carry demonstrations may make the gun holders feel safe, but frighten the rest of the population. The NRA supports open-carry laws and stand your ground laws that allow an individual to react with deadly force if they feel threatened. Wouldn’t a person surrounded by citizens with assault rifles feel threatened?

“States with higher rates of gun ownership had disproportionately large numbers of deaths from firearm-related homicides,” noted one exhaustive 2013 study in the American Journal of Public Health. This just goes to show that the second amendment is hurting more than it is helping.

There is only one way to do this: Repeal the Second Amendment.

Repealing the Amendment may seem like political Mission Impossible today, but in the era of same-sex marriage it’s worth recalling that most great causes begin as improbable ones. Gun ownership should never be outlawed, just as it isn’t outlawed in Britain or Australia. But it doesn’t need a blanket Constitutional protection, either. The 46,445 murder victims killed by gunfire in the United States between 2012 and 2016 didn’t need to perish so that gun enthusiasts can go on fantasizing that"Red Dawn" is the fate that soon awaits us.

a lot of the times you will hear on the news that a mass shooting happened due to a person having a mental problem. some people believe it and some don't, but according to statistics 5% of the mas shootings in the U.S were due to mental disorders. that's no excuse as to why many people die by these "mental disorders" all the time. if any thing it should be mandatory for kids and adults every year to get checked for a mental disorder; so we can prevent tragic things from happening. some of the time they will blame it on drugs or alcohol, which could be true because those types of things can morph the mind to think a completely different way.

In August, as the outrage over the police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., dominated the news, an African-American group calling itself the Huey P. Newton Gun Club took to the streets of Dallas, rifles in hand, to protest. Local businesses were supportive, and the city’s police chief confirmed in a statement that his department “supports the constitutional rights of all.” On Twitter, the hashtag #blackopencarry prompted a warm response from conservatives.

And yet, that same month, a 22-year-old black man named John Crawford III was shot dead by the police in an OhioWalmart after a white customer claimed excitedly that a man was pointing a gun at his fellow patrons. Later, the store’s security footage revealed that Mr. Crawford had been holding a BB gun that he had picked up in the sporting goods department, and that the caller’s testimony had been wrong. Ohio is an open carry state. That didn’t make much difference for Mr. Crawford.
